Conversations with the people shaping Yorkshire -
The worlds of broadcast news and reality TV come together for a brand new series of Yorkshire Talks! Christine Talbot and Matt Jameson return to host the podcast that celebrates the people, places and personalities that make Yorkshire one of a kind — getting under the skin of its most familiar faces while having plenty of fun along the way.
Christine spent 30 years as the trusted co-anchor of ITV Yorkshire's nightly Calendar news, becoming one of the most recognisable voices in the region. Matt rose to fame as one half of the first-ever LGBTQ+ couple to feature on Channel 4's hugely popular reality show Married at First Sight UK. Together they make an unlikely but irresistible double act, sharp, warm and never short of a story.
Each episode, they sit down with some of Yorkshire's most famous faces and fascinating characters — from household names to the unsung people quietly shaping the county — to explore their lives, their roots and the quirkier side of Yorkshire living. Expect honest conversation, big laughs and the kind of insight you only get when good company meets a proper Yorkshire welcome.
Whether they're shaping the region from a studio, a stage, a kitchen or a boardroom, these are the people who make Yorkshire tick. Pull up a chair and join Christine and Matt — this is Yorkshire Talks.

Billy Bowness: Nobody's Fool, Losing His Son and Living with Thanatophobia
Welcome back to Yorkshire Talks, the podcast where we meet a new generation of Yorkshire folk, each with an incredible story to tell, hosted by Matt Jameson and Christine Talbot.
In this episode, Matt and Christine sit down with Billy Bowness, who shot to fame on ITV's Nobody's Fool — the reality series dubbed ITV's answer to The Traitors, where he certainly made a lasting impression.
But there's so much more to Billy than what viewers saw on screen. He talks about his journey into acting, a fascinating career that has included working in criminal law and as a biochemist, and the experience of coming out as gay to his Yorkshire trucker dad.
Billy also opens up with remarkable honesty about the heartbreaking loss of his 19-year-old son, Alex, in a tragic drowning accident, and how that devastating experience intensified his battle with thanatophobia — a rare and often misunderstood fear of dying — and why he's passionate about raising awareness of the condition.
It's a powerful, emotional and inspiring conversation that will stay with you long after you've finished listening.
