Interview With The Vampire with Amy

Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice is one of the most iconic pieces of vampire media, and it's made it to the screen more than once. Amy first encountered Louis and Lestat at a young age through the 1994 film, starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. The movie slipped through the cracks of her Mormon household, and opened up a new vehicle for questions she was starting to have.

As she watched Louis struggle with the morality of being a vampire, Amy was struggling with her own queer identity, and what that meant to her religious upbringing. We talk through how the story helped her parse through immortality, morality, and how to start to form her own beliefs and identity by accepting herself -- the same way Lestat begs Louis to accept his vampirism.

Next week, Yuvi joins to discus The Amazing Spiderman!

For more podcasts like this, check out all that Tandon Productions has to offer. Tennis & The Open Era with Edward Schmit

Tennis is a sport that comes with ups and downs, but for Edward Schmit, it also came with a fresh level of obsession. After a hurricane took over his US Open experience, Eddie found himself falling in love with a sport he'd always been aware of, but never fully paying attention to.

As he watched players like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner start their meteoric rise to the top of the tennis world, Eddie also started playing the sport himself, as an outlet for his mental health. We discussed how the sport helped him find balance, why he connected with tennis as a theatre kid, and how he channeled his love for tennis into his debut novel, The Open Era.

Get The Open Era Here: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/797750/the-open-era-by-edward-schmit/

Next week, Amy S. Yen joins to talk all things Interview With The Vampire, in honor of the return of The Vampire Lestat.

For more podcasts like this, check out all that Tandon Productions has to offer. Hockey with Lexi LaFleur Brown

Hockey has a long and storied history, and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been there since the beginning of the NHL. Lexi LaFleur Brown's family have been there for even longer. The sport is in Lexi's blood -- from her indigenous ancestors on the ice to her family's long standing love (and suffering) of the Leafs, there was never a moment where Lexi's life didn't include hockey.

Lexi and I discuss the three eras her life and hockey have had -- playing the sport growing up, and loving it even when she was told she didn't belong on the ice, falling in love with her husband and building a life together around his NHL career, and now, writing her own hockey romance novels in Shoot Your Shot and Evening The Score. We talk about how her life simply wouldn't be the same without the sport, how she fell in love, out of love, and back in love again with it, and how she's helping carve out a more welcoming space for new fans, too.

Get Evening The Score here: https://www.harpercollins.com/products/evening-the-score-lexi-lafleur-brown?variant=44009786671138

Next week, Edward Schmit joins to discuss Tennis, and his new romance novel The Open Era!

For more podcasts like this, check out all that Tandon Productions has to offer.
