   Has Geeking Changed

Are geeks getting harder to please, or have entertainment companies stopped giving us things worth loving? Dev and Phil dig into fandom gatekeeping, online outrage, review bombing, and the pressure to hate every new game, movie, or show before giving it a fair chance. From Wolverine and its hand-holding gameplay to Marvel’s Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, Lanterns, Resident Evil, and Avengers: Endgame, they ask a big question: have we changed as fans, or has geek culture changed around us? Phil brings the gamer’s perspective, remembering classic Tomb Raider, brutal checkpoints, memory cards, cheat codes, and games that left you to figure things out for yourself. He also shares plans for a game-wheel streaming challenge. Dev brings his horror fandom, a 31 Nights of Horror watchlist, and spoiler-free thoughts on Resident Evil—plus a friendly push for Phil to finally start streaming. Along the way, the duo explores why social media rewards outrage, where criticism turns toxic, how nostalgia shapes our expectations, and why it’s worth trusting your own taste instead of automatically following the loudest reviewer. Their advice? Give things a fair shot, speak up when a product disappoints, and remember that not every new release has to become a battleground.

Is that even real? The creative AI debate.

In this episode of You Geek’N, the crew dives headfirst into one of the wildest modern debates: AI in creative work. What starts as a geeky catch-up quickly spirals into a hilarious, passionate, and surprisingly thoughtful conversation about AI art, editing tools, game graphics, and where the line should be drawn between helpful software and soulless slop. Along the way, the boys trade jokes about GTA 6, Warframe addiction, uncanny valley visuals, and even some absolutely unhinged book titles that somehow make the whole discussion even funnier. Beneath the chaos, though, the episode lands on a real question: how do we use AI as a tool without letting it replace the human effort that makes art, storytelling, and creativity meaningful? We're everywhere. Go ahead and leave a comment. Also apologies if you're watching the episode, Phil was out of town and we had to make some adjustments.

   Wyatt's Back with a Vengeance!

Black superheroes, Marvel cancellations, and the uncomfortable question no one wants to ask: is representation in big-budget pop culture actually getting worse? Dev the Doc is back with Phil and Wyatt for a fast-moving, wildly honest conversation that starts with fandom and ends with a full-on critique of Hollywood, comics, and the people deciding what gets made. From Spider-Man: Brand New Day and GTA 6 trailer madness to Wonder Man, Blade, Ironheart, and the future of characters like Sam Wilson, Monica Rambeau, Storm, Blue Marvel, and Mosaic, this episode pulls no punches. You'll discover: Why Blade becoming a “low-hanging fruit” project still somehow got lost in development hell How legacy characters and race swaps change the conversation differently across Marvel, DC, and the Flash TV universe Why Blue Marvel, Mosaic, Brother Voodoo, Cyborg, and other characters deserve more than a cameo or sidekick role The real difference between token representation and actual long-term storytelling What indie comics, indie film, and creator-owned projects can do that the big studios keep missing Wyatt brings the comic book perspective and a sharp read on how Black heroes are introduced, sidelined, or never properly marketed in the first place. Phil cuts through the noise with blunt opinions on films, casting, and why some adaptations fail before they ever reach the screen. Dev ties it all together with the bigger industry picture, asking what happens when audiences keep rewarding the same franchises while original voices struggle to break through. If you care about Marvel, DC, comics, fandom, Black representation, or the future of indie creators, this conversation hits the nerve. It's part geek-out, part culture critique, and part call to actually support the stories and creators you say you want more of.
