Mandalika MotoGP Madness | Aprilia's Civil War & a New Champion
Mandalika was madness from the first corner to the final lap. Bezzecchi and Fernandez collided at Turn 1 of the Sprint. Fernandez called him unprofessional. There was a heated exchange after warm-up. The team manager said the matter was forgotten. They finished first and second in the Grand Prix. Bezzecchi's win was Italy's 300th MotoGP victory. Fernandez rode the whole race adjusting his style around a finger injury. Martin took a tyre pressure radio call in the Sprint and made the decision to ease off. Whether that was right, and what the tyre pressure rules actually mean — sensors, thresholds, 16-second and 8-second penalties — Dave breaks it down. Then, in Moto3, Maximo Quiles won his tenth race of the season and became the 2026 Moto3 World Champion at 18 years old. The earliest clinch in Moto3 history. Five rounds still to go. Dave has the data on the tyre pressure debacle and Nicky has the Aprilia madness. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. Dave brings the lap times, tyre data and race strategy. Nicky brings the drama, the riders, and the emotional gut-punch. Together we make sense of the most exciting motorsport on the planet. What it's REALLY like going to Japan GP | MotoGP Highlights from Motegi
The championship that was 7 points apart going into Sunday came out the other side separated by two. Martin took pole and led the first ten laps, setting a new Motegi lap record. Marquez passed him on lap eleven and won. Ducati's 100th win under Gigi Dall'Igna. A special sticker in parc ferme. Alex Marquez took out his future KTM employer's lead rider and his future KTM teammate in the same Sprint crash, served a double long-lap penalty in the race, reached eighth, and then crashed himself. Honda ran a beautiful retro livery at their home race and finished eleventh. In Moto2, Gonzalez's clutch failed on the grid before the lights. He started from pitlane. Guevara won. The lead that was 35.5 points coming in is 10.5 going out. Six rounds remain. In Moto3, Almansa beat Quiles by 0.046 seconds for the second race in a row. The title is not yet sealed. We've also been to the Japanese GP before — and this episode has everything you need if you're thinking about making the trip. How to get from Tokyo to Motegi, where to stay, what the Honda Collection Hall is actually like, and why this race feels unlike any other on the calendar. Dave and Nicky share their insights and travel tips from experience, and of course discuss the racing. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. Austrian GP 2026 - 15 Podiums, One Maiden Win & a Hot Mic That Broke the Paddock
Pedro Acosta has been fast enough to win a MotoGP race since the first weekend he appeared on a premier class grid. He had 15 podiums to prove it, including eight second-place finishes that had made him the rider with the most top-three results without a victory in the history of the class. On Sunday at the Red Bull Ring — at KTM's home circuit, in front of an orange grandstand, in his final season with the manufacturer — he led from lap nine and won by just over a second from Jorge Martin. He had crashed from a two-second lead in the Sprint the previous afternoon with three laps to go. He came back the next day and did not make a single mistake across 28 laps. That is the short version. Dave and Nicky spend considerable time on the longer one. Marc Marquez's front brake lever was at a different position every time he touched it from the first lap of the race. He ran wide at Turn 1 on lap ten when he could no longer trust the feedback. He considered pulling into the pits to retire. He eventually finished fifth, more than seven seconds behind Acosta, after catching and passing Brad Binder and Fermin Aldeguer in the closing stages. It was the best available result given the circumstances. Separately, Ducati's wider struggle at the Red Bull Ring continued — the Michelin special rear carcass used at this circuit and three others on the calendar exposes a weakness in the Desmosedici that Aprilia and KTM do not share. This matters because Mandalika uses the same compound. Martin won the Sprint after Acosta crashed from a dominant lead, then finished second in the Grand Prix. He leads the championship by twelve points over Marquez heading into the flyaway rounds. Bezzecchi is a further seventeen behind Marquez. Ai Ogura returned from injury and ran fourth, completing an Aprilia 2-3-4 behind the KTM of Acosta. The Bagnaia and Di Giannantonio situation — caught on a DAZN microphone at Misano discussing Ducati's refusal to allow setup changes, leading to Dall'Igna admitting Ducati had not made the most suitable decisions — is covered in full. Senna Agius has the last MotoGP seat on the 2027 grid with Tech3 KTM. Manuel Gonzalez, who leads the Moto2 championship by over eighty points in the same team, does not. Dave and Nicky break down the four reasons Agius was chosen over the championship leader, and what it means for Gonzalez's future. In Moto3, Quiles won his ninth race of the season after championship rival Almansa crashed from the lead in Austria. He now leads by 131 points and can mathematically clinch the title at the next round in Japan.

An Italian Nightmare in Misano | Bezzecchi Crashes, Marquez Takes the MotoGP Championship Lead
Marco Bezzecchi set the first ever sub-1:30 lap at Misano in qualifying to take pole by half a second. He got the holeshot on Sunday. He crashed at Turn 13 on lap 1, in front of his own grandstand, while leading at his home race. Marc Marquez inherited the lead, lost it to Martin on lap 7, took it back on lap 12, and held off his own brother to win by 0.657 seconds. It was his 78th MotoGP victory and his fifth of the 2026 season. He now leads the championship for the first time all year. The gap between him and Martin is zero. Both sit on 274 points. Marquez leads because he has won more races. Bezzecchi goes to Austria 33 points back. Eight rounds remain. Alex Marquez finished second in a special Marco Simoncelli tribute livery at Gresini Racing's home race. Acosta was third. Martin had arm pump issues, faded to fifth, and still said he really enjoyed the race. In Moto2, a first-corner crash eliminated the entire front row. Gonzalez won from fifth on the grid. In Moto3, Quiles won by 0.021 seconds in a photo finish. Dave has the numbers on how a championship that started the weekend 19 points apart is now perfectly level. Nicky has the Bezzecchi story. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. Dave brings the lap times, tyre data and race strategy. The Title Fight Just Got a Lot More Interesting | Aragon MotoGP Highlights
Marco Bezzecchi set the first ever sub-1:45 lap in MotorLand history in qualifying. Marc Marquez overtook him at Turn 1 on the first lap of the Sprint and the race was over within seconds. On Sunday Marquez won the Grand Prix too. He has closed the championship gap to 19 points. The title fight is no longer a two-horse race. Martin finished fifth in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix. He described the weekend as riding on ice. He still leads the championship. But the margin that felt comfortable leaving Silverstone no longer looks that way heading out of Aragon. Bezzecchi took pole, took a Sprint podium, and finished third in the race. Acosta was second on Sunday in one of KTM's strongest Grand Prix performances of the season. Di Giannantonio crashed out of the Sprint and his title hopes took another hit. Quartararo's Yamaha blew its engine in the Sprint in a cloud of smoke. Zarco returned to racing for the first time since Catalunya in May. In Moto3, Quiles came back from a collarbone fracture at Silverstone and won. Of course he did. Alonso Lopez won Moto2. Dave has the data on what changed at Aragon and why Aprilia struggled. Nicky has the title fight picture going into the final nine rounds. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. 5 things you need to know about the British GP | MotoGP 2026 Highlights
Silverstone's first race back after the summer break was brutal. Riders crashed on the opening lap. Championship contenders retired. A man came back from collarbone surgery still missing a piece of bone. The British Grand Prix was not a race you survived — it was a race you got through. Raul Fernandez won it with authority. Contract extension confirmed on Thursday, holeshot snatched at Turn 1, and 2.5 seconds clear by the flag. He is riding with a confidence that is making people pay attention. Aprilia locked out the front row, led an all-Aprilia Sprint podium for the first time in history, and backed it up with another 1-2-3 in the Grand Prix. The Noale factory came back from the summer break looking like they never left. Marco Bezzecchi returned from surgery and got on the podium in both races. He is not fully fit. He finished third anyway. Jorge Martin extended his championship lead to 31 points. The title is not won, but the gap is real and growing. Maverick Vinales withdrew from Silverstone for further shoulder treatment — the latest chapter in a situation that has become as much about contracts as it has about recovery. Meanwhile in Moto2, championship leader Manuel Gonzalez sat up and celebrated winning the race with a full lap still to go. What followed was one of the most chaotic final laps of the season. Filip Salac won. Gonzalez finished fourteenth. Dave has the numbers on what Silverstone means for the title fight. Nicky has the Fernandez story and everything that happened in the last ten minutes of that Moto2 race. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. Nobody Saw the 2027 MotoGP Grid Coming: Breaking Down Every Move
The biggest grid reshuffle in MotoGP history just confirmed in the Sachsenring paddock. Here is what happened and why. Francesco Bagnaia — two-time world champion, the man who defined the Ducati era — signs a four-year deal with Aprilia. Pedro Acosta joins Marc Marquez at the Ducati factory team. Acosta's own words on sharing a garage with the reigning champion: "He's at the end of his career. I'm at the start." That is not a quote designed for harmony. Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio both leave Ducati for KTM factory — KTM replacing Acosta with two riders simultaneously. Joan Mir goes to Gresini Ducati alongside Daniel Holgado, promoted directly from Moto2. Jorge Martin, who is currently leading the 2026 championship on the best bike in the field, is heading to Yamaha — a team that finished last in constructors this year. None of this is random. All of it is about 850cc. The regulation reset coming in 2027 is the real driver behind every single one of these moves — and once you understand that, the logic starts to make sense. Dave and Nicky explain who wins, who is gambling, and who might be making the mistake of their career. Marquez won the race, by the way. His tenth at the Sachsenring. Equalling Agostini's all-time record. Bezzecchi fractured his collarbone in qualifying and went home for surgery. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. Trackhouse Aprilia won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix — back-to-back 1-2 finishes for a team that didn't exist in its current form four years ago. Bagnaia retired with brake failure. Acosta pulled in with a physical problem. Di Giannantonio served a long lap penalty and still finished fourth. Alex Marquez raced with arm injuries sustained in Friday practice, the same session that put Aldeguer in hospital with a fractured vertebra. Brno 2026: The Marshal Incident, Marquez's Third Win in Four Races & Ortola's Last-Corner Magic
Marco Bezzecchi pushed a track marshal after crashing in the Sprint. The FIM suspended him from the Grand Prix. Marc Marquez won the race. The title fight is a completely different conversation now. Bezzecchi went into the weekend leading the championship by 40 points. He left Brno still leading — but by 40 points over Marquez, who three races ago was 102 points behind. Pecco Bagnaia won the Sprint. Ai Ogura took pole and pushed Marquez all the way to the chequered flag, 0.4 seconds covering them at the end. Jorge Martin served a double long-lap penalty from Hungary and finished ninth. Raul Fernandez reportedly raced with appendicitis. Pedro Acosta retired from fifth on the final lap with a technical problem. Ivan Ortola took his maiden Moto2 win at the last corner of the last lap — a stunning move on David Alonso with Filip Salac third. In Moto3, Hakim Danish won his first world championship race, coming through from 14th on the grid. Dave has the maths on what Marquez needs from here. Nicky has questions about whether Bezzecchi is rattled. 🎙️ ABOUT THE SHOW You, Me & MotoGP is a South African couple's take on the MotoGP World Championship. Marquez and Acosta fought bar-to-bar across 23 laps, with Marquez taking his first win of 2026 and Ducati's 100th MotoGP victory in the same afternoon. Meanwhile Bezzecchi and Martin both scored zero. Martin was handed a penalty by the stewards. Bezzecchi's championship lead, which was 20 points at the start of the race, took a 25-point hit in a single afternoon. Gonzalez won Moto2 for the third race in a row. Five In A Row, A Champion Struggling & The 60% DNF Stat | US MotoGP 2026
Marc Marquez has won at COTA seven times. This weekend, he called it "survival mode." He crashed in FP1, crashed in the sprint, wiped out the polesitter, got a long lap penalty, and finished fifth. On his favourite track in the world. While the reigning champion was unravelling, a man who broke every single rib in his body twelve months ago was quietly taking the championship lead. Jorge Martin — not yet fully fit, at the most physically demanding circuit on the calendar — made the boldest tyre call of the sprint, hunted down Francesco Bagnaia on the final lap, and won. Then crashed doing a celebration wheelie. He's fine. He leads the world championship. Dave and Nicky break down everything from a chaotic US Grand Prix weekend at COTA, Austin: Why Marquez looked more flustered than we have ever seen him, and whether it's his fitness, the bike, or both The full Jorge Martin comeback story: two extra operations over winter, couldn't eat alone in hospital, now leading the 2026 title race Joan Mir's devastating stat: 35 DNFs in 59 Honda grand prix starts. Nearly 60 percent. And why it is not his fault Marco Bezzecchi makes history with a fifth consecutive win, breaking Jorge Lorenzo's 11-year record of consecutive laps led The tyre strategy that decided the sprint — and why Martin's medium rear was the most important decision of the weekend Moto3: Guido Pini wins — first Italian winner in Moto3 since Dennis Foggia in 2022 Moto2: Senna Agius wins a red-flagged, restarted race Plus: Dave and Nicky have a proper argument about whether MotoGP should ban celebration wheelies. Pick your side before you listen. Championship standings after Round 3: Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) Jorge Martin (Aprilia) Pedro Acosta (KTM) Marc Marquez (Ducati) Next race: Spanish Grand Prix, Jerez on 24-26 April.
