From the vagina dentata to pleasure activism

In this episode, we speak with Valentina Ortiz Pandolfi & Kait Scalisi about the myth of the Vagina Dentata and the connection between the voice and sexuality. Valentina shares a traditional story from the Ponca tribe & sex educator Kait of Passion by Kait weighs in.

Note: You Sound Like a Girl acknowledges that not all women have vaginas & that genitals do not equal gender. This episode will focus on folks with vaginas, but as always, You Sound Like a Girl invites cis & trans women, as well as non-binary & gender non-conforming people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women, to join the conversation.

Learn more about what we talk about in the show:

The myth of the Vagina Dentata - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vagina_dentata

Learn about Argentinian singer, composer, and educator Hebe Rosell - https://www.milenio.com/cultura/transformar-un-pais-da-miedo-hebe-rosell

Read Paul Lafargue’s “The Right to be Lazy” - https://www.marxists.org/archive/lafargue/1883/lazy/

Love the idea of pleasure activism?
