S1, Episode 4: Budgeting
Budgeting isn't the most exciting topic but budgeting will only enhance your ability to invest so it's essential we cover this topic. Think of it as a tool to help you build the strong foundation you need so you can properly invest. When you have better control over your money, you have a better idea of how much money you actually have, to put towards investing! Ultimately, you have to be disciplined enough to not just hold onto the money you earn, but you need to track the money you earn, and then you can take the next step in learning how to make your money grow. A good budget is one you’ll stick with. Keep in mind if there’s no money for fun, you’ll be less likely to stick with your budget and this can hinder you from your goal of investing. Make sure your budget is used as a tool to help you, not a straitjacket to keep you from enjoying life. Tune in to the latest podcast episode to learn more about how to make a budget, what a budget must cover, top budgeting apps, and the budgeting plan I recommend.

S1, Episode 3: How to Start Investing 101
The main question that I always get is "How do I start Investing?" My answer is always simple… First ensure that you have a solid foundation, with a strong savings account. Savings is the foundation to investing… without a strong savings your entire investment portfolio can come crumbling down if an emergency pops up and you need to immediately liquidate your investment for cash. “Be selfish and pay yourself first,” is one of the oldest sayings in the book. “You cannot pour from an empty cup/glass” is the quote that is used frequently with self care/love but it can also be used towards your finances. All these concepts and sayings may sound very simple but believe it or not most Americans don’t pay themselves first! 69% of Americans have less than $1,000 in a savings account. 80% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. All these statistics were gathered by CNBC, Forbes, and GoBankingRate, last year in December 2019, prior to COVID-19, when we were considered to have a relatively strong economy and consumer confidence was up. Even in a good economy the statistics still reflect a lack of ability to save in America and we are also the 12th richest nation in the world by per capita GDP. Why is that? Regardless of the reasons just know, it’s never too late to start getting good with money. Tune in to the latest podcast episode to learn more about how much of your income should go towards your savings account, ways to ensure you save consistently, and the types of savings accounts out there that can ensure further growth on your money!

S1, Episode 2: Cancel Culture
We are back! YBII host Monique Malabet (instagram: @1stLadyRealty) and Marian Drayton (instagram: @BeingMariDray) are back with a brand new and the first ever episode of "Cancel Culture!" Previously, recorded back in February 2020. Tune in to hear hilarious commentary of basically "Living in America while Black!" In this episode we are covering racist ignorance at it's finest with the mainstream media failing at covering Kobe Bryant's tragic and sudden death, displays of white privilege by Friends star, David Schwimmer, and the relentless battle of hair discrimination against students at Barbers Hill High School in Texas and even towards big stars like Gabriel Union. Listen until the end on how this episode comes full circle for a young man in high school who didn't allow adversity stop him from being great! This is most certainly an episode you don't want to miss!! ---------------------------- Racist Ignorance at it's Finest: 1) MSNBC anchor Alison Morris for calling LA Lakers Niggers in light of reporting on Koby Bryant's Death 2) BBC posted pictures of Lebron James instead of Koby Bryant during his memorial White Privilege - no one or nothing else exists until white people discover it:3) "Friends" star, David Schwimmer who played the role of Ross, recently caught flak on Twitter for suggesting that the sitcom he starred on should have an "all-black" reboot, when its' predecessor was, in fact, an all-Black show aka - "Living Single" Hair Discrimination: 4) Gabriel Union calls out "America's Got Talent" for letting her go for not tolerating and speaking out against producers continuously telling her her look was too ethnic. Terry Cruise said it never happened because he didn’t see it but Gabby was in full support of his allegations against Harvey Weinstein despite not witnessing his allegations. 5) Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas for telling one of their students, Deandre Arnold, to cut off his dreads in order to graduate. This episode comes in full circle ⭕️ and comes to a happy ending for Deandre Arnold when he is invited to the Grammys by Gabriel Union to celebrate his hair and her new movie “Hair Love!” We love it when there is some sort of happy ending for the people getting discriminated against.
