Creating Your Own Path - with Liane Strub

YFMA listeners, this episode was so special! Liane is an English teacher in the Bay Area that Drij met on a party bus during a mutual friend's wedding weekend. Inspired by Liane's openness and tell-it-like-it-is attitude, we invited her to join us on an episode of YFMA. Wow! This was a beautiful conversation centered around the experience of aging in a phase of life that so many aspire to reach, but, to what end? Retirement. Aging as a woman. Aging in relationship. Aging as a process. We talk about it all and this is one not to be missed!Join us as we discuss dating post-divorce, navigating what retirement should or could look like, and so much more. As always, please share this episode or any episode that you resonate with on your social, in a text or by human-to-human interaction. Thanks for being here. Is Age Even Real?

In this delightful episode with Joey Weamer, the idea of aging as an athlete paves way for some deeply vulnerable conversation about the idea of aging as a whole. Joey breaks down his beliefs and fears about aging as a male in his mid-forties. He gives us a sense of how his perspective on aging as an athlete has changed over the years and speaks to navigating self-limiting beliefs and overcoming self-fulfilling negativity. Joey walks your hosts, Drij and Kelly, through the experience of growing up in the culture of extreme sports in the 90's and the machoism that fills/ed that space and how he navigated, and continues to navigate, his sense of vulnerability. This is an energetic, raw and refreshing conversation with a stellar human; we sincerely hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed its unfolding. Note: Drij would like to point out that she DID not run a 3 minute-something 5k, But appreciates that Joey thinks that she is the fastest human in the world. LOL! Be Where You Are - with Adam Gossett

In Episode 5, we welcome Drij's good friend, Adam Gossett to the show. This one is a fun and vibrant conversation. Growing up in LA in the 80's, Adam recognizes the moment that his life trajectory changed from that of his friends. This heartfelt recount of his life path will entertain and get you thinking about your own diversions and "alternate" lives that "could have been". Adam shows vulnerability in the way he speaks to aging and taking big leaps throughout the years. We can all relate to starting anew, to finally standing up for yourself and taking control of your path. There are some nuggets in here so dive in and get lost in conversation. Then go out and have one of your own. Ask someone you know (or someone you don't) what scares them about aging? What excites them? Dig deeper. We look forward to being in your ears again soon; in the meantime, Age Like You Mean It! Huge thanks to Adam for taking the time to connect with us. Note: Adam calls Drij "AB" many times in this episode, she is a woman of many nicknames. Don't get confused. 🖼️ Cover Artist IG: @jeremy.Billups 🎼 Music: Runaway by Beau Walker is licensed under a Creative Commons License. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/ (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/)... Young For My Age - Kick off

In this kick-off episode, Andrija (Drij) and Kelly introduce themselves and why they decided to embark on this wildly complex and deeply personal topic. Drij speaks to her childhood fear of change and how she associated that with getting older. One day, she hears On Being podcast host, Krista Tippett say, "Everybody doesn't become an elder. Some people just get old." which starts her off on this journey to understand what that means. Kelly is a corporate woman turned life coach who recently embarked on her own journey to take control of her life and story. Drij and Kelly meet and begin a professional relationship turned friendship turned podcast co-host relationship...the rest is history. Listen as they explore their own stories around aging and lay out their vision for this podcast and it's community.
