Bahzad Sulaiman - an artist in immersion

Bahzad Sulaiman is a Kurdish visual artist and performance maker from the far northeast of Syria. He has been living in Germany since 2016. He is a multi-identity artist based on his diverse academic background in the field of art. Bahzad is also one of the artists participating to our Immersive Residency programme. This program aims to open enoa institutions’ doors to a diverse pool of talented artists and to enrich the opera landscape with new narratives and aesthetics. His work deals with the concepts of body, space and improvisational forms of movement and explores the perception and impact of these forms on an audience shaped by Western visual practices.
