Welcome to the YOUNGISH ERA.
This podcast represents a metaphorical "middle finger" to the statement that some of us are too old to start over. Coming from someone who switched career paths three times and still truly doesn't know what he wants it's never too late to start anything. This is a love letter to my younger self and my creative dreams. Listen in to guests speak their truth on topics that relate to current life experiences all while delving into their past, present, hopes for the future, and reflecting on their younger self. You don't want to miss these conversations!
This week's special guest is Destiny Lamar! Destiny currently lives in Queens, NY and is a first grade teacher at KIPP Charter School. Destiny is a one of a kind teacher who truly works to understand her students needs and never stops trying to help her students achieve success. She is a stellar communicator and ensures all of her students understand the importance of expressing their emotions as well as providing ample opportunities for social emotional learning in her classroom. Destiny is also an advocate for therapy and is a firm believer that everyone should have an outlet where they can express their feelings and thoughts in a healthy and productive way. Destiny is one of the most humble, gracious, and driven people I have ever met. She works tirelessly for her students, her boyfriend, and her family all while continuing to pour love onto herself. She is someone I truly admire and hope that others find her just as inspiring.
Tune in to hear Destiny speak on her journey of acceptance, her appreciation for therapy, and her ability to use her experiences to always be and do better in all facets of life. Her story is one of determination, embracing the present, and striving to live with empathy and humility. You definitely don't want to miss this conversation!

Episode Five - Youngish Thomas
Surprise! This week's special guest is me. Welcome to the first ever solo episode of Youngish. I wanted to take this week to spend some time reflecting on what I have been up to over the last couple of years and why I decided to rebrand the podcast in the first place. The last time I did a solo episode was back in 2021 and quite a lot has happened in my life that has both pushed and challenged me in a multitude of ways. Just as much as I hope for my guests to be vulnerable on their episodes I also need to do the same. Sharing my life experiences provides my audience the opportunity to know me as more than a host, but a whole person.
In this solo episode I dive into my reasons for transitioning out of the classroom, finding tranquility in work life balance, and sharing the why behind the new podcast name: Youngish.
