Forgiven but Still Hurting: Sara Cardone’s Journey to Healing After Abortion

Can you know God has forgiven you after an abortion and still carry wounds that need healing? For decades, Sara Cardone rarely thought about the two abortions she experienced as a young woman. She had pushed the memories aside, accepted Christ, and believed that because she was forgiven, nothing more needed to be addressed. But when Sara attended a Forgiven and Set Free abortion recovery intensive, God revealed wounds she did not realize were still affecting her. Through Scripture, prayer, and honoring the lives of her two children, Sara experienced a deeper level of freedom and discovered how God could use her story to help other women heal. In this episode of Your Healing Place, Sara shares how fear, a lack of support, and the search for love influenced her abortion decisions. She also explains why healing may still be needed years or even decades later and how freedom from abortion-related shame can help women step into their God-given purpose.
