Anybody got a way to escape 2025? Or tips on navigating the Baptist church we're stuck in? This crash-landed time traveling duo would appreciate it. No future spoilers from us. Promise. Ish. Oh also, the captain has turned into a cat. Don't tell him I told you. He's touchy about it.

Hey Listeners! Long time no pod.
CC and I are going into 2026 with the resolution of being resolutely resolved to never be trapped in a Christmas Eve service with 50 first-time-candle-holders again.
Only lightly singed, I chatted with Lizzie Goldsmith to get her helpful insights on evangelical life.
Lizzie is a podcast producer, sound designer, writer, and editor, and senior roving producer for City Cast’s network of daily local podcasts and newsletters.
She's promoting her recent adaptation of Addie Zierman’s first memoir, When We Were on Fire, a full-cast, four-part audio drama.
Check it out at the When We Were on Fire website (https://www.whenwewereonfirepodcast.com/).

Time
Begin message to leave behind for Listeners: Well, friends. It's time. See what I did there?
Pageant night is upon us as I dictate this. Hopefully nothing crazy gets in our way like curveballs from Crown Currentsy or the church congregation.
By the time you're listening to this, CC and I will likely be home. Whatever that means. It's been a pleasure, Listeners. If a Roach's voice falls in the woods and no one's around to hear it... Well, you get the idea. Thank you all.
Note to message-bot: Cut that last bit before publishing. Too sappy. No pun intended. Heh heh.

Show
Oh, food, glorious food. We're anxious to fuggedaboutit. Apparently.
As the hangry congregation fasts, your favorite cat captain works very hard to keep this Same Boat afloat before the time flies make a meal of everyone.
Some secret sauces regarding this place and its resident time travelers get accidentally unearthed along the way...

CC's Emergency Meditation!
This is a message specifically for Roach! Though maybe you can get something out it too, Listener, who knows.
Things are getting dire over here. I'm sure everything will be explained in our next upload... if we survive that long...

Fracking Around
Alright, listeners. It's CC's time to shine. And by "shine," I mean "struggle to type this and with generally everything else."
As 2025's time flies start to take their toll on Roach, this newly anointed cat has got to figure out how to get her back in her right mind and keep our escape plan in progress. And not get stepped on.

Finding Out
The things we do for those we need. I mean, love. Yeah.
CC and I spelunk into the bowels of the ship and our pasts in order to keep Grasshopper in the pageant and avoid the unimaginable headache of recasting.
We unfortunately make discoveries that will change our relationship and on-mic dynamic forever.

Sex
Let's talk about it, baby. And how talking about it can apparently have weird consequences on certain churches and certain time travelers.
This week, CC and I must overcome an abstinence course (more like obstacle course, am I right?) that is impeding our imperative creative juices (ugh, phrasing, sorry) if we're ever gonna get out of here.
Who knows, some life lessons might actually get learned along the way despite everyone's best efforts.

Drugs
We forgot about money! This week, we try to get some of that stuff to fund important things like wigs for the pageant and flowers for the garden. Oh, and food.
Unfortunately, marketing strategies from the future apparently don't mix super well with your average modern Baptist human sensibilities... (CC notes here that calling our spaghetti-throwing methodology "marketing strategies" is a stretch.)

Rock n' Roll
We're mounting the best pageant Same Boat Baptits Church has ever seen! It's our only way back home. Classic time traveler stuff. Though maybe navigating the time fathoms is easy compared to navigating the bureaucracy here... (CC insists I note here "No, it isn't." I'm not convinced.)
