#160 How to Use My Time Well: Balance Waking Up and Showing Up

In this episode, I talk about the struggle of balancing “waking up” and “showing up.” Waking up is the thinking, reflecting, and planning part of life, while showing up is taking action and doing the work. I share that many of us feel stuck doing too much of one and not enough of the other, especially when life feels chaotic. I explain that this tension is normal and something we all face. The goal is not perfection, but alignment, making sure our thoughts, values, and actions work together.

I walk through a simple daily process from the Accountability Code that helps bring waking up and showing up into the same day. This includes making a short task list, praying or checking in for guidance, setting priorities, taking action, and ending the day with reflection and feedback. I remind you to give yourself grace and start small. Even doing one step better can create peace and momentum. When waking up and showing up align, we feel more grounded, more confident, and more like the person we are meant to be.

Key Topics Covered:

What “waking up” really means

What “showing up” looks like in daily life

Why feeling out of balance is normal

The Accountability Code explained simply

Reflection, humility, and planning

Taking action without being perfect

How to use a daily task list the right way

The role of prayer, guidance, and feedback

Letting go of overwhelm and unrealistic expectations

Becoming aligned in your thoughts, words, and actions

Marci Barker
Life Coach specializing in Accountability for Business Owners Author of The Accountability Code
It's Time to Wake Up and Show Up!
www.marcibarker.com
⬆Grab my free audiobook here⬆

Episode 116: #116 You’re Showing Up Too Much by Your Loving Kick in the Pants

Episode 117: #117 You’re Waking Up Too Much by Your Loving Kick in the Pants

Follow me on Facebook
Marci Barker Accountability Coach & Speaker

Follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/marcibarker.fast/

Follow me on Twitter Marci Barker (@MarciBFitness) on X

Follow me on Youtube Your Loving Kick in the Pants

#158 How to Create more Structure in your Life

In this episode, I share how grateful I am for the Boss Minded community and our recent New Year event. When everyone shared their biggest takeaway, one word kept coming up: structure. It stood out because structure is often the real reason people follow through. Motivation comes and goes, but structure helps us show up even when we don’t feel like it.

I explain that structure isn’t about restriction, it’s about safety and support. It helps us decide things ahead of time so life feels easier and less overwhelming. I share simple personal examples from my calendar, my business, paying off debt, and meal planning, and I walk through how the accountability code helps create structure that actually works and fits real life.

Key Topics Covered:

Why structure matters more than motivation

How structure helps people follow through

Structure as safety, not restriction

Simple ways to add structure to daily life

Using calendars and routines to reduce stress

How structure helps with business and time management

Deciding things in advance to free your mind

Keeping structure simple so it actually works

Using the accountability code step by step

How structure helps families work together and grow

Marci Barker
Life Coach specializing in Accountability for Business Owners Author of The Accountability Code
It's Time to Wake Up and Show Up!
www.marcibarker.com
⬆Grab my free audiobook here⬆

Follow me on Facebook
Marci Barker Accountability Coach & Speaker

Follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/marcibarker.fast/

Follow me on Twitter Marci Barker (@MarciBFitness) on X

Follow me on Youtube Your Loving Kick in the Pants
