MICHAEL CANNAVO |Co-founder of Super73
Michael Cannavo, Co-Founder of Super73 growing up in Orange County he found himself ready to graduate high school and join the Air Force, but things took a turn when things didn't pan out, but they lead to more excellent pastures. After finding out about the bad news of the Air force denial, Michael was defeated and started getting into the routine of regularly playing video games and working at Costco. At Costco, he felt the feeling that he could be doing more, and the event of him touching a live wire and having a full circuit of energy flow through his body kicked started the journey that would lead him to Super73. After quitting his job at Costco, Michael became a wedding videographer. Doing that for many years, he built his own wedding videography business at the end, having an empire and being the premier wedding videographer in all of OC. Michael made many connections in the business, but it never gave him a sense of fulfillment. So he went on to join an OC startup where they were building these scooters which could hold industrial equipment. Long story short, it was ahead of its time. But one weekend, Michaels's co-worker AP Wong built an electric scooter with beefy bike tires, and Michael filmed a video of it. They then had the idea of putting it on Kick Starter, where they raised 20,000 Dollars. With that Kick Starter momentum, they started getting noticed by influencers. One of the famous influencers that supported Super73 in the beginning was Andy Millanokis. He praised the bike and asked him to bring a bike up for him and his friend Jesse Wellins. Jesse Wellens relationship was perfect from the beginning because he understood the brand and the goals of it. This understanding led to a collaboration between Jesse's brand Rose Ave and Super73, where they made a Rose Ave bike, and it sold like hotcakes. From there, it led to Casey Niestat wanting a bike. But Michel knew it wasn't ready yet, so he held off for a year to make sure that the bikes were reliable. A year later, it was ready, so he gave a bike to Casey, and he reviewed it, and it garnered much attention. Michael and Casey and Jesse make many creative videos, the highlight being the speeder bike video in NYC. From here, Michael made custom bikes for artists and people that he admired. Like the story of the 24Karot Gold bike for Post Malone where he went out to Coachella on a whim and got the bike for him. Before Michael got the bike to him, the bike toured around at many VIP parties and even led him to hang out with Snoop Dog. He made bikes for legends like Sway Lee, Jesse Wellens, Snoop Dog, Casey Niestat, Rahul Kohli, Post Malone, Will Smith, and many more! Michael has been able to make a phenomenal community around the bikes. Michael's favorite part is being community rides. Recently the company held time trials at Motoranch racing the bikes on a dirt course. We also can't forget Michaels's Passion for Star Wars and how he got involved with the 501st. One day he decided to go to a Star Wars event where he brought a clone wars helmet, and someone asked him if he was part of the 501st. They are a community of people who go around sharing the love of Star Wars while doing philanthropic work in their personalized clone wars suits. Michael said no to the person, but that sprouted the opportunity to be part of a group that shared a like-minded love for Star Wars culture. All in all, we're excited to see what the future holds for Super73.
