Welcome to Your Peace at Your Pace, a podcast for women 40+ seeking true peace amid life’s chaos.
Join me as we explore friendships, finances, work-life balance, and the challenges of living at a healthy pace. After leaving a 20-year career and moving to Washington with just two suitcases, I’ve learned valuable lessons about embracing change and finding community as a single person. Episode 9: Unplugged: How a Tech-Free Walk Led to Presence and Connection
In this episode, I share an unexpected three-hour tech-free experiment that led to deep reflection and personal discovery. What started as a simple decision to leave my phone behind for a walk turned into an experience of heightened awareness, meaningful human connection, and a renewed sense of presence. I discuss the power of intentional pauses, the impact of our physical posture on our emotions, and the importance of truly seeing and being seen. Join me as we explore how small moments of disconnection can lead to greater self-awareness, peace, and authenticity.
Reflection Questions:
When was the last time you intentionally disconnected from technology, and what did you notice about yourself or your surroundings during that time?
How does your daily posture—both physically and mentally—reflect your current state of mind, and what small adjustment could help you feel more open and present?
In what ways can you create moments of meaningful human connection today, whether through a conversation, a shared experience, or simply being fully present with someone?

Episode 8: Provoking Change by Creating Pause
Life is full of built-in markers—seasons, the new year, transitions—that provoke reflection and change. But how do we respond to these moments? In this podcast, I explore the changes we long for, the ones we resist, and the ones we intentionally create. Through personal stories and reflections, I invite you to pause, embrace transformation, and find peace at your own pace. Let’s navigate change together—thoughtfully, authentically, and with grace.
Reflection Questions:
What is one change you’ve been resisting, and what small step can you take today to move toward it with intention?
Think back to a recent time when you felt the nudge to change—maybe it was a habit, a mindset, or even a physical move. Were you reacting out of urgency, pressure, or discomfort? Or did you take the time to pause, process, and respond in a way that aligned with your values and desires?
Where in your life can you create a moment of pause to reflect, rather than simply react to change? How will you incorporate this pause into your routine?
What is one habit, commitment, or mindset you need to let go of in order to create space for something new? What action can you take this week to start that process?

Episode 7: Being at Peace means respecting the Unexpected
I’m back after a break since November 26, during which my father passed away and life brought unexpected changes. Through it all, I’ve learned to embrace shifting priorities and show myself compassion, and I want to encourage others—especially women over 40—to honor their own pace, accept life’s unpredictability, and see pauses as part of growth rather than failures.
How do you typically respond when life disrupts your plans or commitments? Do you allow yourself grace and flexibility, or do you tend to be hard on yourself?
In what areas of your life do you feel the need to embrace shifting priorities? How can you honor your current season while still holding space for your long-term desires?
Think of a time when you took a break from something meaningful to you. How did you view that pause? What did you learn from the experience, and how did it shape your journey moving forward?

Episode 6: Quit Talking Down to Yourself
In this episode, I reflect on the lies I previously told myself. I also invite you to replace the lies you tell yourself with the truth of who you are. Each of us is an amazing mystery, loveable and able to love. Let’s start with a healthy love for ourselves.
These are the candles I mentioned in this episode. I love them because they help me stay focused without depending on technology. FYI – this episode is not sponsored; I’m sharing it simply because I’m in love with these candles. I buy them from a local store to avoid paying for shipping, but fair warning – they’re pricey!

Questions for Reflection:
Do I talk down to myself? What are those phrases, those lies I sometimes tell myself about who I am?
Only reflect on this question if you can be tender with yourself; otherwise, it’s best to skip this one. Reflecting on a moment from my childhood when I spoke down to myself, what is the truth my adult self can tell her today?
How would I respond if I heard someone I love saying those words to themselves? Reflect on the sincerity behind this response. How can I be sincere and compassionate when I talk down to myself?
How would I describe my relationship with time if it were a person in my life? Is it a strained relationship? Can I value it as a gift?
Identify an act of trust I’ve recently extended to someone, and that I wasn’t disappointed by. Pause to express gratitude for that moment.

Episode 5: An Invitation to Enjoy Your Own Company
LOL. Seriously, it’s good for you! In this episode, I share why it's important to enjoy our own company. Being by ourselves doesn’t imply that we’re lonely. One good way to know if you enjoy your company is if you can LOL by yourself.
Questions for Reflection:
When was the last time I laughed out loud by myself and what was the occasion?
How do I feel about being by myself? How would I explain the difference between being alone and being lonely?
Are there things I don’t enjoy about being alone?
Am I entrusting my happiness to someone who is not truly interested in my happiness? If so, what step can I take to empower myself?
How do I enjoy my own company, even if I’m not laughing at myself? Are these experiences I only enjoy when I’m alone? Can I enjoy these same things with others? Why or why not?
What kind of solo activities or experiences can I pursue for myself?

Episode 4: What happens when you don't dwell on loneliness?
I had fun recording this episode! In it, I share in detail about what how I came out of my pre-birthday slump. If you haven't listened to the first episode (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3sRw23tjyiGZZGi5cjDdCK?si=T_dk-dwdSgKoS9NotiTJwA), go back for a listen to discover how I grappled with loneliness in anticipation of my birthday.
View pictures (https://yourpeaceyourpace.com/#photo-gallery)from my day party on my website.
You'll notice some mistakes, such as me going "blah blah blah" when I trip over my words or lose track of my thoughts (no scripting). There are also longer pauses or mispronouncing words. These are all things I do in real life. In as much as I can't edit out real life, I don't aim for this to be an overly edited podcast. It also takes a long time to edit and I'm just learning to, so for now (and maybe always) you'll get me in the raw. Time will tell!

Episode 3: Celebrate the Ordinary!
In this episode, I share a day in my life and how I’ve learned to appreciate the ordinariness of it. Life is fairly quiet right now - work, walk (definitely), gym (occasionally), dinner and sleep. I share some habits I’ve built into my life that help keep me grounded.
I’m intentionally trying not to edit too much so you’re gonna hear me thinking aloud.
Go to my homepage (https://www.yourpeaceyourpace.com)and check out the pic of my cozy corner I speak about in this episode. I plan to blog more about decorating my apartment with the intention of fostering the kind of environment that’s important to me. Stay tuned!

Episode 2: It's worthwhile to know the real value behind our losses.
I not only lost my AirPods, but I left each in a different public location. Reflect with me on why it's important to know something's real worth to value what matters most in our lives.

Episode 1: Dealing with Loneliness
What do you do when loneliness hits? This isn't the topic I expected to share on my first episode, but when I was inspired to start podcasting I knew it would be in real time.
I share honestly about how I faced a sudden bout of loneliness as I approached my birthday.
