Dance Yourself Clean - A Musician's Take on Isolation
What are musicians doing during this period of isolation? You might expect they're getting creative as usual but according to one musician who you'll hear from in this episode, it's not always about the music. Sometimes it's important to stop for a moment and slow things down especially in a city like Los Angeles where the beat never stops. Ian Wurfl is a percussionist who has lived in the City of Angels for over 7 years. He's played at venues all over the area but with city-mandated quarantines and isolations - it's all dried up. But Wurfl has an interesting take on what musicians like himself can do during this time. Music is important but if you want to sit back and watch Netflix, that's cool too.
Ian was kind enough to supply me with some of his beats and jams that he's created. You'll get to hear them in the show. But if you'd like to check out more of his stuff on social media, you can find his handle below.

Party Like There's Nowhere To Go
The pilot is here! In the very first episode of Your Voice, I talk with my longtime friend Nora Godfrey who was kind enough to share what her experience has been like during the age of coronavirus isolation. From working remote to dance parties well into the night, this is a perfect introduction to the types of stories I want to tell through this podcast. So grab a drink, sit back and enjoy because seriously... what else are you doing right now?
