<p>In todays episode I speak with Jonathan Moscone. For over 30 years, he has worked at the cross section of theater and civic engagement. From 2000-2015, Jonathan served as artistic director of California Shakespeare Theater. He then went on to serve as Chief of Civic Engagement and Producer of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, From 2020-2023, he served as a Council Member then Executive Director of the California Arts Council, the State’s arts agency. Jonathan received his MFA in Directing from the Yale School of Drama and received the inaugural Zelda Fichandler Award. Jonathan lives in San Francisco with his husband, Darryl Carbonaro, and their cat, Turtle, and dog, Lucy.</p>

Episode 8: Boundaries, advocacy and deep self care with Anthony James Williams.
<p>In this episode I speak with Anthony James Williams abolitionist and sociologist. Their work examines racism and the carceral continuum across both prisons and public urban spaces. Anthony sees harm reduction as a fundamental principle for conducting research and producing scholarship. Anthony is writing their first book manuscript that examines the racism embedded in solitary confinement practices and prisonwide lockdowns in California state prisons. Prior to their current role as an Associate Program Officer & Project Manager at the Spencer Foundation, they were the Race and the Carceral State Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at College of the Holy Cross in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology.
