About Youth Rethink

Youth are the future, and this is a space to hear their voice! Youth ages 16-17 select political topics of interest and share their thoughts. With support of their adult mentor, Jahque, students flex their imagination and use a racial equity lens to envision liberation. Rooted in Sankofa, Jahque goes back to fetch the knowledge (history) and together we RETHINK what we’ve been told about these topics.

   Who are teens going to if they aren't mentally well? What are these 4 teens noticing about the mental health resources in their schools? How can parents and adults create a relationship that supports their young person's mental health? Mental health matters across all demographics, at the same time we recognize that as the suicide rates go down the white youth ages 10-19, it's increased 54% for their Black peers.
