Who will HOST???
In this episode, we discuss the impact of a seminar i gave which is all about who will host your channel for your brand. I have a few rules.... Having someone who is good in front of the camera can certainly be beneficial for a successful YouTube channel, but it is not the only determining factor. Here are a few points to consider: Connection with the Audience: A person who is comfortable and confident in front of the camera can establish a stronger connection with the audience. They can effectively communicate their message, engage viewers, and build a loyal following. However, even if someone may not be a natural on-camera presenter, they can still create successful content by focusing on other aspects, such as storytelling, editing, or providing valuable information. Content Quality and Variety: The quality and variety of the content are crucial factors for a successful YouTube channel. While having a charismatic and engaging personality can enhance the viewing experience, it is equally important to offer valuable, well-produced, and diverse content. Focus on creating interesting and engaging videos that cater to the needs and interests of your target audience. Collaboration and Teamwork: If being in front of the camera is not your strength, consider collaborating with others who excel in that area. You can team up with someone who is comfortable on camera or hire a host or presenter to deliver your content. This allows you to leverage their skills while still delivering valuable content to your audience. Ultimately, the success of a YouTube channel depends on multiple factors, including content quality, consistency, audience engagement, and marketing efforts. While having someone good in front of the camera can be advantageous, it is not the sole determinant of a successful YouTube channel. #YouTubeStrategy #EngagingStorytelling #VideoOptimization #StrategicContent #SpokespersonImpact #YouTubeInfluence #EnhancedYouTubeSEO

Watch time is MORE IMPORTANT than subscribers
View time, also known as watch time, is considered more important than the number of subscribers for a few reasons: 1. **Algorithm Preference**: YouTube's algorithm prioritizes watch time over the number of subscribers. This means that videos with higher watch times are more likely to be recommended to users, increasing their visibility and potential for more views. 2. **Monetization**: To be eligible for YouTube's Partner Program, which allows you to make money from ads on your videos, you need to have a certain amount of watch time in addition to a minimum number of subscribers. Therefore, high watch time is crucial for monetization. 3. **Audience Engagement**: A high watch time indicates that viewers are genuinely interested in your content and are willing to spend time watching it. This level of engagement can be more valuable than a large number of subscribers who don't actively watch or engage with your videos. 4. **Insight into Content Quality**: High watch times can provide valuable insight into the quality and relevance of your content. If people are watching your videos for longer periods, it suggests that your content is resonating with them, whereas a high number of subscribers doesn't necessarily mean your content is impactful. 5. **Sustainability**: A channel can have a large number of subscribers but still have low engagement if the content doesn't hold viewers' attention. Channels with high watch times are more likely to have sustainable, long-term success. In conclusion, while having a high number of subscribers is beneficial for social proof and reaching the minimum requirement for monetization, increasing your watch time is generally more beneficial for your channel's growth and success.

There is NO POINT focussing on SUBSCRIBERS
No SUBSCRIBERS, don't worry about it??? There is no point in them! In the new YouTube landscape, compelling content reigns supreme. The success of a YouTube channel now hinges more on the quality, uniqueness, and appeal of its content than the number of subscribers. Viewers are drawn to videos that resonate with them, that entertain, inform, or provide a unique viewpoint. This content-centric approach has shifted the power dynamics on the platform. Striking thumbnails and catchy titles may attract initial clicks, but it's the content that holds viewers and encourages them to engage, share, and return for more. This shift towards content is not just a trend on YouTube, but a reflection of an industry-wide move towards quality and relevance. As the digital space becomes increasingly crowded, the need for content that stands out tells a story, and connects with viewers on a deeper level, becomes more critical than ever. The 'subscribe' button might not be dead, but compelling content is certainly the new monarch on YouTube.

TRENDS on YouTube
Trending content on YouTube is exceptionally important for growth. If you keep these tips in mind, it will help you stay relevant: 1. Pay attention to the type of content, video format, and themes that are consistently popular. This will help you understand what viewers are interested in. 3. Research popular topics: Use YouTube's search bar and explore related videos to find out what people are actively searching for. This will give you insights into the trending topics and keywords that you can incorporate into your content. 4. Be original: While it's important to follow trends, try to bring your unique perspective and creativity to your content. Stand out by adding your own twist or offering something different from what already exists. 5. Engage with the community: Participate in discussions, comment on trending videos, and collaborate with other creators. This will help you gain visibility and attract viewers who are interested in the trending content. 6. Optimize your content: Pay attention to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques to ensure your videos are discoverable. How to KEEP YOUR VIEWERS
When viewers stay engaged and watch your videos for longer periods of time, it signals that your content is interesting, valuable, and relevant to them. This, in turn, helps your channel in multiple ways: 1. Visibility and discoverability: YouTube's algorithm takes into account various factors, including audience retention, when recommending videos to users. Higher retention rates indicate that your content is engaging, which can lead to increased visibility on the platform. This means more people are likely to discover and watch your videos. 2. Audience growth: By consistently providing content that keeps viewers engaged, you are more likely to attract and retain subscribers. A loyal and growing subscriber base is essential for the long-term success of a YouTube channel. 3. Monetization opportunities: YouTube offers various ways to monetize your channel, such as ads, sponsorships, and merchandise. Higher retention rates increase the chances of generating ad revenue and attracting potential brand partnerships. 4. Community engagement: When viewers stay engaged and watch your videos for longer, they are more likely to become active participants in your channel's community. This can lead to increased interactions, comments, likes, and shares, fostering a sense of community and connection among your audience. Retention on YouTube is a critical factor in building a successful channel. By creating compelling and valuable content that keeps viewers engaged, you increase your chances of gaining visibility, growing your audience, and unlocking monetization opportunities. In short… don’t wave goodbye to your viewer. Tell them why they need to stay

Promotional content is DEAD
Editorial video content can certainly play a significant role in the future of promotion. Here are a few reasons why: 1. Engaging storytelling: Editorial video content focuses on storytelling, allowing brands to create compelling narratives that capture the attention of viewers. By presenting information or products in a more narrative-driven format, brands can create a deeper connection with their audience. 2. Authenticity and credibility: Editorial content often provides a more authentic and credible approach to promotion. By presenting information in an editorial style, brands can establish trust with their audience, as it feels less like a traditional advertisement and more like informative content. 3. Building a loyal audience: Editorial content has the potential to attract and retain a loyal audience. When viewers find value in the content beyond just promotional messages, they are more likely to subscribe, engage, and share the content with others. This can lead to increased brand loyalty and advocacy. 4. SEO benefits: Editorial video content can also have positive effects on search engine optimization (SEO). By creating informative and well-structured videos, brands can improve their visibility in search results, driving organic traffic to their channels and websites. 5. Adaptability across platforms: Editorial video content is versatile and can be adapted for various platforms and formats. Whether it's a longer-form video for YouTube or shorter snippets for social media, editorial content can be repurposed and optimised to reach a broader audience. Be warned however, it's important to note that promotional strategies should be diverse and incorporate a range of content types, including editorial videos, as different audiences have different preferences. Additionally, the future of promotion will likely continue to evolve with advancements in technology and changes in consumer behaviour.

The POWER of entertaining and evergreen content…
Entertaining content has the power to become evergreen by capturing the interest and attention of a wide audience over a long period of time. When content is engaging, enjoyable, and creatively presented, it tends to resonate with people on a deeper level. Here are a few reasons why entertaining content can become evergreen: 1. Emotional connection: Entertaining content often elicits emotions such as laughter, joy, surprise, or even nostalgia. When people feel emotionally connected to something, they are more likely to remember and share it with others, which helps to keep it alive and relevant. 2. Timeless appeal: Evergreen content typically transcends specific trends, fads, or time periods. Entertaining content that remains relevant and enjoyable regardless of when it is consumed has a better chance of standing the test of time. 3. Shareability: People love to share content that makes them laugh, think, or feel good. Entertaining content tends to have a higher shareability factor, which means it can spread organically through social media, word-of-mouth, or other platforms. The more it gets shared, the more exposure and longevity it gains. 4. Broad audience appeal: Entertaining content often appeals to a wide range of people, regardless of demographics or interests. When content has mass appeal and can resonate with various audiences, it has a higher chance of remaining relevant and popular over an extended period. 5. Enduring enjoyment: Some forms of entertainment, like classic movies or timeless jokes, continue to bring joy and laughter to people even years after their initial release. Entertaining content that offers enduring enjoyment has the potential to stay evergreen by continuing to entertain and engage new generations. Remember, creating entertaining content requires a good understanding of your target audience, being creative, and tapping into emotions that can create a lasting impact.

Why does video resonate so much with customers?
Video resonates with customers for several reasons: 1. Visual and auditory appeal: Videos combine visuals, audio, and sometimes even text to create a multi-sensory experience. This engages customers on multiple levels, making the content more compelling and memorable. The combination of visuals and sound can evoke emotions, capture attention, and create a deeper connection with the audience. 2. Storytelling and narrative: Humans have a natural inclination towards storytelling. Videos provide a powerful medium for brands to tell their stories, communicate their values, and create a narrative around their products or services. Storytelling in videos helps customers connect with the brand on a deeper level, fostering emotional resonance and loyalty. 3. Demonstrating products or services: Videos allow brands to showcase their products or services in action. By visually demonstrating how a product works, its features, and benefits, customers can better understand and visualize its value. This demonstration builds trust and confidence in the brand, making it easier for customers to resonate with and consider the offering. 4. Relatability and human connection: Videos can humanize a brand by featuring real people, authentic stories, or relatable situations. By portraying real experiences, challenges, or successes, brands can establish a human connection with customers. This relatability creates empathy, trust, and a sense of familiarity, making it easier for customers to connect with and support the brand. 5. Entertainment and engagement: Videos have an inherent entertainment factor that captures attention and keeps viewers engaged. Whether through humor, creativity, or captivating storytelling, videos provide an enjoyable experience for customers. When customers are entertained and engaged, they are more likely to remember the brand and its message, leading to increased resonance and brand awareness. 6. Convenience and accessibility: Videos are easily accessible on various platforms and devices, making them convenient for customers to consume. With the prevalence of smartphones and social media, customers can watch videos anytime, anywhere. This accessibility allows brands to reach a wider audience and engage customers on their preferred channels, enhancing resonance and brand connection. In summary, videos resonate with customers due to their visual and auditory appeal, storytelling capabilities, product demonstration potential, relatability, entertainment value, and convenient accessibility. By leveraging these elements effectively, brands can create videos that capture attention, evoke emotions, and establish a strong connection with customers, leading to increased resonance and positive brand perception.
