<p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal"><span>沧州刘士玉孝廉，有书室为狐所据。白昼与人对语，掷瓦石击人，但不睹其形耳。知州平原董思任良吏也，闻其事，自往驱之。方盛陈人妖异路之理，忽檐际朗言曰：公为官，颇爱民，亦不取钱，故我不敢击公，然公爱民乃好名，不取钱乃畏后患耳，故我亦不避公。公休矣，毋多言取困。董狼狈而归，咄咄不怡者数日。刘一仆妇甚粗蠢，独不畏狐。狐亦不击之，或于对语时，举以问狐。狐曰：彼虽下役，乃真孝妇也，鬼神见之犹敛避，况我曹乎。刘乃令仆妇居此室，狐是日即去。</span><br /></p>

长生猪
据胡御史牧亭说，他老家有一人养了一头猪，见了邻居老翁便瞪着眼睛发怒，猛奔过去咬他，见到别的人却没有这种情况，最初，邻翁很生气，想把猪买下杀了吃掉，以解心头之恨。事后忽然醒悟道：莫非这就是佛经中所说的宿冤吗？人世间没有解不开的怨仇。老翁便出好价钱把猪买下来，送到佛寺中，作为“长生猪”养起来。从此，猪见到老翁，就搭拉着双耳靠近他，不象往日那凶恶的样子了。我曾见过孙重画的伏虎图，巴西人李衍题诗日：“ 至人骑猛虎，驾之犹麒麟。岂伊本驯良？道力消其鸷。乃知天地间，有情皆可契。共保金石心，无为多畏忌。”这首诗即可作为对这个故事的解释。
