Welcome to Animacy: Reclaiming Aliveness in a Living Cosmos

In this introductory episode, Zack Geist welcomes listeners to Animacy and shares the deeper intention behind the project. He reflects on why he stepped away from podcasting, what called him back, and how years of living in community at Rainbow Bridge in Hawaii shaped the vision for this new offering. Zack introduces animacy as the degree of aliveness, agency, and relationship present in all things, and explores themes that will guide the podcast: healing, dreams, lucid consciousness, plant intelligence, spirituality, money, community, intimacy, restorative justice, and the transformation of culture. This episode sets the tone for Animacy as an invitation to live more fully, relate more deeply, and participate consciously in the world we are creating.

The Driven Personality w. Dr. Doug Brackmann

In this episode Dr. Doug Brackmann and I go into what it means to be Driven. There are genetic differences among this population, which leaves them often, confused, successful, addicted or controlled by shame.    We go into the reasons that nature might have caused this expression in certain individuals in a tribe and how these tendencies can wreak havoc on personal relationships and on the body itself.    We go into why the Driven Person may be looked at as a sociopath or psychopath and why they are drawn to behaviors that are considered to be very antisocial or self serving to others and what to do about it.    We also go into what to do in a world that doesn't have much need for someone with this level of compulsive drive for survival, and what to do if you are driven to stay healthy and to cultivate deep relationships with those who don't share that same drive, and much more.   Dr. Doug has two PhDs in Psychology and has worked with high entrepreneurs and special forces and has written the book "Driven" with a Navy Seal. You can find out more about Doug's work at Iamdriven.com

Dome Gaia: Building Your Dream Dome w. Hajjar Gibran & Steve Areen

It's been a long time since I have published an episode. Frankly, the long delay has been due to the fact that my life circumstances have changed so completely that the topics that I am most actively working appear so different than previous episodes. Although this topic and ones to come may appear disparate and unconnected at first glance, I think that they are in fact another aspect of living in the world in a more beautiful and holistic way.    In this episode I interview Hajjar Gibran and Steve Areen. Hajjar Gibran is the founder of Dome Gaia, an organization that helps people around the world build very inexpensive and beautiful homes that are sustainable, long lasting and can be duplicated in most any climate. These technologies harbor the opportunity to reduce or even eliminate homelessness and allow for people to build for much less than the absurd cost of lumber both economically and to the planet.    We talk about what can be built with aircrete and other materials and how people can learn how to build, even if they haven't built a thing in their lives, like your's truly. I consider Hajjar and Steve to be great friends and Hajjar lives here and participates in our community activities on the Big Island of Hawaii.     Links: Hajjar Gibran's Ted Talk:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzCXNlqDW6M   Steve Areen's Viral Video of his dome built for under $11,000 including labor:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VcdwDRNPzA&t=249s
