זה הסיפור של דני עולמי. לרגל יום הולדתו ה-80 יוצא דני למסע בזמן ומספר בקולו את סיפור חייו שהחל ב-14 במרץ 1942 שהוקלט, נערך והופץ כפודקאסט (הסכת). בספר זה מובא התמלול המלא של הפודקאסט, שבו חוזר דני אל שכונת מכבי שבה נולד, לאחיו יעקב שנהרג כשהיה בן 6 בקרב שבעת הנוטרים ומלווה אותו עד היום, בית ילדותו בכרמיה, היחשפותו לעבודת המלאכה במפעל המראות של אביו. יכולותיו להוכיח שאין בעיה שלא יכול למצוא לה פתרון, כמו פיתוח הכדורית ב-IBM. דני נזכר בפגישה הראשונה עם אשתו לעתיד, זיוה, עמה הקים משפחה והיו להורים לשלושת ילדיהם: בנם הבכור, שי והתאומות, יעל וחלי, שאיתם בילה בחופשות בארץ ובחו״ל, ליווה אותם בטיולים מטעם בית הספר ואף עזר להם בלימודים ובעיקר - בתפירה. עם יציאתו לפנסיה, נהנו השניים מזמן משותף עד שהתגלתה מחלת הפרקינסון של זיוה. כיום דני הוא פנסיונר וסבא טרי ל-7 נכדיו וחי בזוגיות עם תמי.
