Euskal hizkuntzalaritzan eta filologian ikertzailea da Borja Ariztimuño (Tolosa, 1986). Euskara arkaikoari buruz egin du tesia, eta, gaur egun, doktoretza-ondoko ikertzaile kontratuarekin ari da ikertzen EHUn. Onartzen du prozedura batzuek antza handiagoa izan dezaketela zientzia aplikatuetan, letretako jakintza-arloetan baino, esperimentazioak ordea badu lekua bere ikerketa esparruan ere. Alor bakoitzak du bere ikertzeko modua eta metodologia, eta "datuak" eskuratzeko bidea eta datu horiek "modu zintzoan erabiltzea eta errealitatearen azalbideak proposatzea" da berak darabilena. Ariztimuñok, Euskararekiko zuen interes orokorragatik aukeratu zuen Filologia, gerora sortu zaio ikertzeko grina. Garbi dauka, hizkuntza aztergai konplexua dela, ez dela neurtzen erraza. Orain gutxi arte, soinketa irakasle edo entrenatzaile izateko irtenbbdea zuten ikasketa hauek, baina orain gutxi, nutrizionista edo psikologoen bezala, osasun arloan lan egiteko aukera zabaldu zaie.
