Joe is also the author of A People’s Guide to Publishing, which distills what they’ve learned over the past 30 years, taught at dozens of universities. Together, they distill this knowledge for other publishers and people who simply want to understand the publishing industry.

[…] And I think that is, you know, necessarily really different than for creating things that are narrative. Um, And in that zone, I have my own taste. I do worry that everybody wants to be so comfy, cozy all the time that they're not really interested in being presented with a new idea or something a little outside their typical scope. I think that totally makes sense for just the conditions we're all in. But I think art, especially, exist to be an interesting and unique expression that can present to you new ways of seeing the world or whatever. Um, and that devaluing that, whether through like the absence of substantive criticism across the board or, um, you know, people just being less adventurous in their acquisitions, I do think that's a problem.
