She is ensuring that we learn more about the factors that contribute to some human qualities that are still absent in AI, such as adaptability, generalizability, common sense, and causal reasoning, by holding the top technical position at IBM, the IBM Fellow. She discusses her career history, interests in AI, and traveling from Italy to the United States to work for IBM in her interview. She shares her experience as an Italian professor and her recent meeting with the Pope at the Vatican for the "Rome call for AI ethics" event.
