On the podcast, she speaks openly about her music industry experiences, how well she is doing and why she’s a fan of music streaming. Paul Pacifico is CEO of the Association of Independent Music, the UK-based trade body for independent record labels to explain how his members both survive and thrive in the streaming era, and how many of the issues around artists contracts don’t necessarily apply to independent label contracts.</p> <p>Together the team discuss what many independent artists and labels think of the economics of music streaming, how it differs from the analogue world and their hopes for the DCMS Inquiry into this subject.</p>

Roxanne de Bastion is a musician; director at the Featured Artists Coalition; and founder of the FM2U conference for artists.</p> <p>We discuss the current state of the music industry, the debates around artist royalties and black boxes, and what skeletons the parliamentary inquiry might uncover.
