I would extend that last point further. I think... Really, the future is likely a personalized physiologic package. Rather than treating blood pressure in isolation, we should individualize anesthetic depth, stroke volume optimization, neuromuscular blockade, non-susception control, mechanical ventilation, and of course, blood pressure. The goal should be to optimize the whole physiologic state of the patient, not simply push one number above a predetermined threshold. […]
