Reflection Collage: Capricorn Full Moon
From JULY 2022-released on my patreon (https://www.patreon.com/zesty_bodimind_slime) I listen to a handful of astrology interpretations. Sometimes I take notes on what I’m hearing to help lock the possibilities and forecast in my mind. This sound collage is a combination of reading my notes (recorded on audacity) from the Capricorn full moon interpretations, archived field recordings, and tracks from a recently inherited cd collection woven together on traktor. For me what’s helpful about astrology, numerology, tarot, poetry, etc is that the words illuminate emotions in my bodimind and gives me an opportunity to reflect on them, utilize them to make decisions, and or give them space to exist. Most reflections and interpretations have a specific ethereal vibe. I wanted this collage to have a more realistic, roller coaster, chaotic feeling to give the listener’s bodimind a real exercise. [Scroll to the bottom to see CW’s] These days it seems like a large portion of how they’re spent is archiving life.... and its not just in the form of pictures and captions... its in the form of likes, loves, thumbs up and thumbs down. I’ve been participating in this activity since it began which means a person or a machine could really get to know me just by following the trail of these recorded preferences. The New York Times published a podcast called “Rabbit Hole” where the first segment they followed this person’s YouTube history over the course of maybe 10yrs? It was inspiring and wild, and got me thinkin about all the history I am creating constantly. In this episode, I scroll all the way down to my first soundcloud “likes” and also share some personal and anonymous “notes” from an old phone. I definitely plan to do more of this because soundcloud and other internet music platforms have played a very pivotal role in my sonic journey. I created this episode using my iPhone 5 or 6?, the soundcloud app, audacity from my computer to record, and a battery operated computer speaker.
