We have been friends for such a long time, and seeing him come into himself over the last several years has been a beautiful thing to witness as his "big sister" and friend. We've supported each other through so many changes, and there has been an incredible amount of healing in his life and in his family since he started his transition. Join us as he tells us all about it.</p>

Join us as we both tell you about our negative experiences in the Christian church as openly gay people, the ways that we have been able to overcome church trauma and find our identities with Jesus, and hear the heartwarming last words of acceptance from Andrew's mother before she passed away of breast cancer.</p>

<p>Stevie Burger is an openly gay (and PROUD) Jewish woman living in Portland, Oregon. She was very fortunate to have parents who supported her sexual orientation from the beginning, even though coming out in a Catholic school (as a Jewish person) was anything but easy! I really enjoyed sitting down with her and hearing the ways she loves herself, and the ways her family loves her too.</p>
