While the country is often defined as a single entity, the reality is that there are actually closer than 12 nations united under a single flag. Within the United States today, there are different cultural nations that each have their own values, priorities and preferences. And each of these nations compete and cooperate with each other depending on the issues. Oh, and the most important bit? These nations do NOT fall along state borders. In this video, we'll cover what the 12 Nations of America are, how they formed historically and what they look like geographically, what it means for a single country to actually have 12 different nations within it, and what each nation would look like IF they were ever independent. *BIG STRONG NOTE HERE* This is not intended to be a "the US is going to break up and these will be the nations that come out of it" video. The US is a single country today and will continue to be a single country. This is a video that outlines what cultural nations exist TODAY within the single country and how that impacts the US at large. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

🚂 Ride Vietnam's train with me!    • What Vietnam's FIRST CLASS Train Is R...   -- 🥖 What France really wanted with Indochina: https://geographicgeoff.substack.com/... -- 🌳 Find me elsewhere: https://linktr.ee/geoffgibson 🗺️ Map store: https://geoffxmuirway.com/ Vietnam is ascendant! By nearly every metric the country is outperforming its Southeast Asia neighbors, particularly as companies aim to shift manufacturing away from China due to global economic concerns. Because of this, the country has a growing middle class, educated population, and prominence on the world stage. In fact, in many ways, Vietnam could outpace Japan over the next few decades. But this doesn't mean Vietnam is without its own challenges. In this video, we'll cover the physical geography of Vietnam, the history of the country and how it became the Vietnam we know today, and why Vietnam is poised to become the Southeast Asia power that has never truly existed, perhaps even rivaling Japan in the near future. Despite this, one Carolina (North Carolina) has become the DOMINANT Carolina, leaving the other (South Carolina) as a relatively forgotten state. But while this might make sense today, it wasn't all that long ago that South Carolina was actually the wealthier, larger and more important Carolina. So what happened and why does North Carolina have so many more people than South Carolina? In this video, we'll cover the similar but still different physical geographies of the two states, the history of how the states began as a single colony before breaking apart, and why North Carolina surged ahead in the 1800s despite South Carolina being far wealthier in the 1700s.
