Sie ist geboren in Afghanistan und lebt heute in Deutschland. </div><div><br></div><div>Ein breiteres Publikum wurde auf Mahbuba Maqsoodi aufmerksam durch ein außergewöhnliches Projekt: die Gestaltung der Kirchenfenster der Benediktinerabtei Tholey im Saarland. Das ist ein Ort, der Tradition, Spiritualität und zeitgenössische Kunst miteinander verbindet. Gleichzeitig zeigt Mahbuba Maqsoodi aktuell ihre Werke in der Städtischen Galerie Neunkirchen, in der Ausstellung GLAUBHAFT, wo ihr künstlerisches Schaffen in all seinen Facetten zu erleben ist.</div><div><br></div><div>Wir sprechen mit Mahbuba Maqsoodi über Kunst zwischen Religion und Identität, über Licht und Farbe, über menschliche Fragestellungen und spirituelle Themen – und über einen Lebensweg, der geprägt ist von Umbrüchen und von kreativen und künstlerischen Neuanfängen. </div><div><br></div><div>EN - Mahbuba Maqsoodi is a painter, author and a bridge-builder between cultures, as her art consistently forges connections. She was born in Afghanistan and now lives in Germany. </div><div><br></div><div>Mahbuba Maqsoodi came to the attention of a wider audience through an extraordinary project: the design of the stained-glass windows at the Benedictine Abbey of Tholey in the Saarland. It is a place that combines tradition, spirituality and contemporary art. At the same time, Mahbuba Maqsoodi is currently exhibiting her works at the Städtische Galerie Neunkirchen in the exhibition GLAUBHAFT (credible), where her artistic output can be experienced in all its facets.</div><div><br></div><div>We talk to Mahbuba Maqsoodi about art between religion and identity, about light and colour, about human questions and spiritual themes – and about a life journey marked by upheavals and creative and artistic new beginnings. </div><div><br></div><div>FR - Mahbuba Maqsoodi est peintre, écrivaine et une voix entre les cultures, car elle ne cesse de jeter des ponts à travers son art. art talk - die Bildhauerin Sigrún Ólafsdóttir
<div>Sigrún Ólafsdóttir (1963) studierte Bildhauerei in ihrer Heimat Reykjavík in Island, und setzte ihr Studium in Freier Kunst und Bildhauerei bei Wolfgang Nestler an der Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar in Saarbrücken fort. Hauptmedien der Künstlerin sind Zeichnung und Skulptur bzw. Plastik. Ihr zentrales Thema ist das Verhältnis von zwei sich bedingenden Kräften – z. B. Bewegung und Ruhe, Statik und Dynamik, Schwere und Leichtigkeit. Bei den Skulpturen spielt das Material - Stahl, Aluminium, Latex Gummi oder Holz - eine zentrale Rolle. <br><br>Die seit den 1990er Jahren in Saarbrücken lebende Künstlerin wurde im Jahr 2022 für ihr herausragendes Kunstschaffen mit der Verleihung des Albert-Weisgerber-Preises für Bildende Kunst der Stadt St. Ingbert geehrt. Für die Sonderpräsentation in Kooperation mit der Stadt St. Ingbert hat die Gastkuratorin Andrea Fischer von der Albert-Weisgerber-Stiftung zusammen mit der Künstlerin Exponate aus mehreren Jahrzehnten ausgewählt. Zu sehen sind ihre Werke in der Modernen Galerie Saarbrücken in der Ausstellung Gegenwärtige Bewegung, die ab dem 29. November 2025 bis 12.
