Why do we need to understand CHANGE

Ashok's Show on CHANGE Gyan(Knowledge) #1 - Does Change sustain

Organisations do believe that if an improvement initiative is done, the benefits sustain and do not drift to the original condition

In each episode of this show, I will be sharing the knowledge on Science and Art of Change. Understanding this , will help the change champions, agents and leaders to address issues pertaining to CHANGE. The result, a major part of the improvement sustains or sticks

The business world is always changing . We use the acronym VUCA ( Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) . Organisations find it difficult to maintain their competitive position or for that matter survive. Hence Organisations keep trying out new initiatives or process changes. These are generally termed as Operational Excellence Programs. It comes in the form of certifications ( example ISO standards ), a Lean or a Six Sigma initiative. It can also be a big bang approach like an ERP introduction organisationwide. While a certain amount of incremental improvement happens due to the CHANGE ( changed ways of working or the introduction of a new system or tool), organisations find it hard to sustain this change for a longer time. To understand the reasons why CHANGE does not stick, one has to delve deep into the art and science of CHANGE which will be dealt in multiple episodes in this podcast channel.
