Dementia Alliance of North Carolina seeks to improve the lives of North Carolinians impacted by dementia as well as empower their caregivers through support, education and research.  Each program is built on a foundation of CARE that provides Comfort, Assistance, Resources and Education for individuals and families living with dementia. As a result, we are able to provide a high degree of personal support throughout the entire journey with dementia. Serious Illness Care with Hospice of Rockingham County's Jeanne Slayton

Community Outreach and Development Director Asheley Cooper is joined with Jeanne Slayton of Hospice of Rockingham County  on the latest edition of At Home With ADTS. The duo shared information about Hospice of Rockingham County's new Serious Illness Care program. Serious illness care is provided by a team of specialists, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and any stage in a serious illness, and it can be provided in conjunction with curative treatment. Learning more about NC-Caregivers.com with Trualta Relationship Manager Laura Jane Ward

Community Outreach and Development Director Asheley Cooper is joined with Laura Jane Ward of Trualta on the latest edition of At Home With ADTS. The duo shared information about NC-Caregivers.com, a free online resource for caregivers in North Carolina.  The learning platform addresses real issues, with in-depth/digestible lessons, practical steps, and guided support from a care manager. The free portal doesn't require an app, features short lessons created by experts in aging and is easy to use for all ages. Other topics of discussion include the cost of caregiving and key issues surrounding those that provide care for others.  Laura Jane Ward is part of Trualta's growth team. She has held a variety of roles in nursing homes and the aging network and is passionate about supporting caregivers. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Appalachian State and is pursuing a master's in Gerontology.
