What’s Saving My Life
Time to shake it up a bit! I (Katie) am trying out a practice that some other podcasters do of sharing what is "saving my life" in this season. This is typically done quarterly (like summer, fall, winter, spring), but I will be doing this for this season of life before I have my second baby and become SAHM to two! This is a practice of slowing down and noticing what's really working for you right now and naming it specifically. So maybe something that's working for my life will work out for you, or maybe it will encourage you to slow down and notice what's working in your own life. Brianna Gembol: Big Transitions, Burnout, and Time with God
Brianna (SAHM, part-time assistant, and boy mom) joins Katie to talk about life with two energetic boys, from backyard bathroom breaks to living room paddleboard forts. She shares about a season of major transition—welcoming a second baby, moving from Tyler to Austin, and stepping into church ministry life—and what it looked like to rebuild community as a stay-at-home mom in a new city. Brianna opens up about balancing part-time work from home, the importance of getting out of the house, and how small rhythms like quiet time and a clean kitchen can shape her days. The two also talk about investing in rest through Mother’s Day Out, setting boundaries with toddlers, and how motherhood exposes a deeper need for patience, grace, and dependence on God. Brianna offers encouragement for moms in busy or lonely seasons, reminding them that even small moments with the Lord matter and that these days are full of answered prayers. Moriah Lovett: 4 under 5 & Solo Parenting
Moriah Lovett is a mom of four kids under 5 and a gifted writer whose work has been featured in publications like Desiring God and The Gospel Coalition. Mariah joins At Home with Littles to talk about raising kids close in age, navigating unfiltered comments from strangers, and why she refuses to settle for “just surviving” motherhood. Mariah and Katie discuss everything from poop disasters in public places to postpartum struggles. Moriah explains what it’s like to solo parent four littles while her husband travels, how she’s learned to build rhythms that support both her and her kids, and why getting out of the house (even when it feels impossible) can be a game changer. She shares her practical systems for rest time, room sharing, and creating independence in young kids, along with the mindset shifts that have helped her move from overwhelm to joy. Whether you’re in the thick of survival mode or longing to enjoy motherhood more, this conversation is full of both practical wisdom and honest encouragement for wherever you are.
