What about Me!?
<p>Have you ever felt a little disappointed when, at the end of the year, the teachers in your studio receive praise and armfuls of gifts from students but you, as the studio owner, end up empty handed? Life as a studio owner can certainly be thankless at times and that’s often because the majority of work we’re doing is behind the scenes - think admin, logistics, training teachers, running a business! In this week’s episode of At The Barre we’re unpacking some simple strategies for dealing with those times when you feel unacknowledged in your studio. The Magic of Self Awareness
In today’s episode of At The Barre we’re taking a deep dive into self awareness and how it can impact the type of leader you are in your studio. As a dance studio owner, you know there is always something to do in your studio and sometimes it’s the work on our ‘self’ that gets pushed aside as we deal with more ‘urgent’ matters. But, in this episode, we discuss why prioritising this work is so important and how it truly effects every aspect of your studio. We also touch on what a lack of self awareness can mean for your studio and I even reveal a few tools you can use to start to looking deeper to find what truly makes you tick. <p>Repeat after me… “proft is not a dirty word”.</p> <p>In this episode of At The Barre we’re talking all things money with studio owner Kaitlin Hague. As a studio owner, it can be difficult to reconcile your ‘calling’ as a teacher and mentor with the financial reward that SHOULD come with running a successful business. On the daily, we can be faced with parents who wonder why they’re being charged an ‘admin fee’ on top of the costume or competition entry and even employees who might not fully ‘get’ the actual cost of running a studio.</p> <p>This isn’t just a conversation about numbers though and certainly not one just for studios of a certain size.
