For years, feral hogs have been causing problems for farmers and landowners in the United States. They reproduce so quickly that their population has exploded, causing serious damage to crops, livestock, and even wildlife. In an attempt to control their population, some states have allowed hunters to take them down. In today’s episode of the Back to the Lodge, Patrick talks about why feral hogs are being hunted, what changed his perspective about hunting hogs, and when is the best time of year to hunt wild boars. However, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) has been making changes to the regulations governing these activities that have been leaving outdoorsmen disappointed. Today's episode of the Back to the Lodge featured a special message from the founder of The Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame, Garry Mason. In his message, Garry expresses his opinions on the changes to TWRA regulations and their implications for hunters. The Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame has been established to recognize those outdoor sportsmen and sportswomen who, through countless hours of hard work and devotion to the outdoors, in both hunting and fishing, have played an integral part in setting the standards and guidelines for the rest of the outdoor world to follow.
