A Chat with Arlene Gibbs: Entering the film industry (and staying afloat), next steps for Black representation, and what it means to be successful

This is definitely one of the coolest interviews I've done....

Arlene Gibbs is a screenwriter, producer, and interior designer among many other things (including self-proclaimed band geek) and took the time to chat with silly old me all the way from Italy one morning. I have been sitting on this episode for months and am really excited to share it. We talked about everything from how to make it in the film industry to the (surprisingly) shallow dating pool in Italy. I learned so much from Arlene during this conversation and hope you're also able to pick up some gems. I have linked Arlene Gibbs' work below. Be sure to check it out. All About Love (and Work)

Love can and should exist in the workplace! (and i'm not just talking about romantic love...)

This episode is an update to my previous episode "i simply shall not work," where I revisit some of my past points and offer insight into my new perspective largely inspired by bell hooks' (phenomenal) book "All About Love." Is this a lot of word vomit? yes. Are there a plethora of gems in there? absolutely. This book truly transformed the way I see and value love in my life. I would highly recommend the book (and this episode)!

I'm just not that into me...

Sometimes you're just not your biggest fan..

For the longest time, I didn't center myself in my own life. I was a wondering extra in everyone else's story. And it wasn't great. In this episode, I dive into this experience more and offer advice on how to find comfort and friendship within yourself. Enjoy!
