In March, 1971, local resident and soccer fanatic, Ted Hutton and his merry men began distributing leaflets throughout the suburb of Balga in Western Australia. So was born Balga Soccer Club. The response allowed the club to field four teams in junior soccer that year and a senior team two years later. 51 years later Balga SC is the first and only soccer club in WA providing free football for players below the age of 18 years old and our senior team complete in the 3rd division of the Western Australian football league, known as State Division 2. #6 - Paul "the Bomber" Zimarino - Perth Soccer Club
<p>We are joined by WA Football royalty, Paul "the Bomber" Zimarino for episode 6 of the Balga Soccer Club Podcast. Paul was inspirational in the FFA Cup game that saw Balga SC destroyed 7-0 at the hands of Perth Soccer Club back in 2019. Paul also scored the FFA Cup goal of the year during the game, an award recognized across Australia. You can watch Paul's goal on the "Official Balga Soccer & Social Club" facebook page. </p> <p>In 2022 Paul has been the lynchpin of the Perth SC midfield and has well and truly lived up to his nickname "the Bomber" by continuing to score outrageous goals in the Men's WA National Premier League. </p> <p>Paul discusses the 2022 season, his journey as a junior footballer, overcoming adversity and his views on what makes Perth Soccer Club the most successful club in WA football history. </p> <p>Paul is an absolute gentleman and we cannot thank him enough for his time on the Balga Soccer Club Podcast.</p>
