<p>In this episode Dr. B and Dr. Giovanni get REAL about the true meaning of SELF CARE and the many layers of it. I’ve had to often remind myself that self care is multidimensional and each dimension requires attention.</p> <p>#Self-care is #emotional, #mental, #spiritual, #physical, #financial, #intellectual (not the same as mental), #environmental and #social. No area should be neglected. Many people pour everything into a particular dimension and wonder why they’re still not progressing.</p> <p>You gotta care for the whole house not just the roof or the yard. Ya know? You also have to be mindful of what your house is built on and surrounded by. I see spiritual health get confused with mental health a lot. I see physical health get neglected for financial. Like if you’re wealthy but you can barely make it up a flight of stairs what good is money? Yet those people will miss the point and say “well that’s why there are elevators.” Lol. You’re not wealthy if you’re not in good physical condition because you develop issues that either cost you all your money to fix or your money cannot fix them at all.</p> <p>I also don’t care how fine and fit you are if you’re broke. Gotta address all dimensions. My sister and I were just thinking about doing a retreat about SELF CARE. The true meaning of it, not a pity party, not a pleasure party, not a spa day, not a money party… I’m talking real shedding, a real experience that addresses ALL layers and each attendee bringing their own knowledge of EVERY layer. Dr. Giovanni immediately responded to the call for the necessity of this conversation and we are grateful to have her as a guest on the show and podcast.
