This initiative champions 12 exceptional emerging artists, reinforcing Beatport’s commitment to nurturing new talent and enhancing their visibility within the global DJ community. </p><br><p>Farah Nanji (DJ N1NJA) hosts the conversation, delving into women’s contributions to music, as well as discussing some of the barriers facing women in the industry today. Each panelist speaks about their experiences to date and how they've managed to carve out incredible opportunities for themselves despite the difficulties they sometimes face.</p><br><p>Charisse C, Olive F and Anaïs also shared practical advice for young, aspiring female DJs, from rejecting diminutive categorisations to building resilience, and simply playing what you love.</p><br><p><strong>Farah Nanji (Host)</strong></p><p>Farah Nanji, known by her artist alias, N1NJA, is a British DJ, producer, TEDx speaker, and podcaster.</p><p>She is currently the host of the no.1 podcast series, Mission Makers, featuring thought-provoking interviews with leaders like Deepak Chopra and Carl Cox. Nanji’s speaking impact is amplified by her acclaimed TEDx talk on the transformative potential of neurodiversity. As a frequent moderator at Davos and ambassador at UNESCO, she passionately advocates to transformative conversations on a global scale. Nanji is the Curation Manager at IMS.</p><br><p><strong>Olive F (Artist)</strong></p><p>Olive F is an avid vinyl collector with a true passion for music. Inspired by Disco, 80’s Soul and 90’s Hip Hop Olive lets her track selection do the talking. Last year saw Olive quickly establish herself as a resident for Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik parties, with bookings taking her from Singapore to Ibiza, she kicks off 2024 announcing her global residency for Elrow along with her first release on Defected Records.</p><br><p><strong>Charisse C (Artist)</strong></p><p>Charisse C is a multi-faceted powerhouse. DJ, Artist, Abantu founder, one half of ‘The Ascension’ and NTS resident, she stands as a pioneer of South African dance music. Previously a Music Journalist, she describes herself as both a vessel and storyteller.Rooted in her Zimbabwean and South African heritage, raised in the UK, Charisse C has been acclaimed by Mixmag as “building a bridge between continents.” Her sound is curious, soulful and bass-heavy; commanding international dance floors with a playful and intentional demeanor.</p><br><p><strong>Anaïs (Artist)</strong></p><p>Blazing the trail for a new generation of D&amp;B artists, Bristol-based Anaïs’ fierce dedication to the art of DJing is propelling her to the forefront of the scene.
