[…] So The Things We Never Say is new in the sense that it's not an Olive Kitteridge book or a Lucy Barton book. And it's also set in Massachusetts, which she says, I was just a bit sick of Maine, so I had to move. So we're in Massachusetts and it centres on Artie Dam. So Artie is a history teacher. He's married to Evie. And they have a son, Rob, and Rob was involved in a car accident 10 years ago, which sort of altered the course of his life somewhat and was a traumatic event for the family and for Artie and Evie. Artie loves going out on his... boat but he's starting to feel a bit depressed and lonely when we meet him and so we sort of explore that with him and and go through that and then he finds out a secret which i won't spoil but there are these developments but it's not plot driven as i've said But we're just following Artie as he navigates this and exploring what's happening in his life, in his marriage, in his family and at work and in the world more broadly.
