【印象古早】独立文史研究者李千仪谈武吉布朗的历史（一）
<p>武吉布朗坟场被誉为新加坡的“露天博物馆”，一块块墓碑承载着早期华人社会的发展轨迹与集体记忆。资深媒体人、独立文史研究者兼布朗汇导览义工李千仪，多年来致力于记录和讲述武吉布朗的历史。她表示，自己2015年从海外工作15年后返新，因参加一次武吉布朗导览而深受触动，自此投入导览与研究工作，也重新认识新加坡的历史与文化根源。</p> <p>李千仪介绍，“Bukit”在马来语中意为“山”，“Brown”则源自19世纪英国商人George Henry Brown。他于1840年代购入当地土地，尝试种植咖啡和豆蔻，并在山上建造住宅“Mount Pleasant”，虽然种植失败，但“Bukit Brown”之名却流传至今。由于布朗曾在当地种植咖啡，华人也将这里称作“咖啡山”。</p><p>See <a href="https://omnystudio.com/listener">omnystudio.com/listener</a> for privacy information.</p>

【印象古早】新加坡广东人的传统行业（二）
<p>与实力雄厚的闽潮邦群相比，新加坡的广东社群（以“广惠肇”为主）经济根基相对薄弱，其行业多聚焦于日常民生。在金融、大宗转口贸易的夹缝中，他们凭借“包罗万有”的“广货”（涵盖腊味、布匹、香烛以至文房四宝）在粮油杂货业扎根。其中，活跃于中街（Market Street，马吉街）的“中街七家头”，便是由新会商人建立的雄厚商号，他们不仅垄断早期的杂货市场，更是同济医院初创期的重要支柱。</p> <p>除了杂货，建筑航运是广东人的另一大血脉。早在1867年，广东建筑工匠便成立了本地最早的行业公会之一——“北城行”，后来又有 “鲁班行” 等组织陆续成立。在加冷河（Kallang）附近的南乐街与万山福德祠周边，当年曾密布着广东人经营的砖窑与船厂，承载着无数苦力的生计。</p> <p>然而，广府历史最独特的亮色，在于其女性展现出的草根韧性。19世纪末，广东女性占新加坡华人女性总人口的三分之一。一般人最熟悉的也许就是影视剧中筑起城市天际线的 “红头巾”（三水婆），和誓言不嫁、漂洋过海的顺德 “妈姐”了。</p> <p><strong>延伸阅读</strong>：欲了解更多关于新加坡广东人传统行业的研究，可登录“新加坡华族文化百科”网站阅读陈康言博士的完整文章。</p> <p><a href="https://culturepaedia.singaporeccc.org.sg/zh/communities/traditional-trades-of-the-cantonese-community-in-singapore/">https://culturepaedia.singaporeccc.org.sg/zh/communities/traditional-trades-of-the-cantonese-community-in-singapore/</a></p><p>See <a href="https://omnystudio.com/listener">omnystudio.com/listener</a> for privacy information.</p>
