<p>It is impossible to imagine a better guide to the wonderful world of chocolate than Amelia Rope. Like many of us, she loves the fascinating flavours and entrancing textures of great chocolate, but her knowledge and passion goes much deeper. From competing on ‘BBC Masterchef’ in 2006 and 2007 and a short 5-day chocolate course at Valrhona her discovery of fine chocolate came to life. Creating her vision of her unique chocolate dipped crystallised rose petals with a fleck of gold leaf and winning Great Taste awards for her handmade truffles she was propelled into a media frenzy (tv, radio and printed media) and a life at the helm of her chocolate business Amelia Rope Chocolate.</p> <p>She went on to create award-winning (Academy of Chocolate and Great Taste Awards) chocolate bars with great success, winning accolades from respected gourmets and industry leaders and seeing her bars on sale in some of the world's most prestigious outlets before moving into the world of podcasting and conjuring up Chocolate Adventures.</p> <p>She has also travelled to the remote regions where cocoa beans are grown, and talked to those who grow and harvest this demanding crop. She has talked to experts in the senses of smell and taste to understand the scientific background behind our craving for chocolate, and no one knows better the challenges and complexities of the chocolate business and the fascinating characters who devote their lives to it.</p>
