[…] Whereas in other countries, the boxes or the briefcases that had random amounts of money in, they were presented by glamorous models or celebrities. In the UK, each box was held by a potential future contestant. The next contestant came from among the people holding the box. Each other was just a random draw, and then one of those contestants would be picked to compete. which meant that all of the contestants for basically the entire show, the entire series, had to spend all of the time filming that series together, sequestered in a hotel for weeks at a time. And while they were there, their behavior would be monitored by production staff, who then had to produce daily reports to hand to Noel Edmonds about what the contestants had been up to. […]
