[…] Other than meeting the size of a park, there's not a lot that developers have to do in terms of the design of the park. There are in certain area secondary planned policies or urban design guidelines that help to shape the form, the feel, or the function of it. There are some metrics and parameters that city planners use to kind of get the best out of their park and ensure that it's designed to the highest quality. But you can follow all the rules and still end up with a patch of grass. So I want to show you my favorite park, and I say that somewhat sarcastically, but maybe not at all. My favorite park is in fact a traffic island in a web of cars and infrastructure, but it's a really great example of how some of our most underutilized and forgotten infrastructure could use a little bit of love and can be to some a park.
