Ontario's Special Investigations Unit says a man armed with a shotgun who allegedly fired multiple shots at a police officer stationed outside a synagogue in Belleville is 29-year-old Sean Ward. The CBC's reporting the suspect was a member with the Canadian military serving in Alberta and was currently living with his mother just outside of Belleville. pictures of ward have been floating around on social media one of them allegedly shared by his father in full uniform on facebook in twenty seventeen douglas lobel who was among about two dozen people inside the synagogue during the gunfire exchange says he's not surprised this happened because he's warned the city about certain activities by certain groups.
