About Connected Spirit Podcast

Real talk + grounded guidance for psychic mediums growing their gifts with Spirit at the center. Hey, I'm Courtney Dawson—an evidential international psychic medium, ordained spiritualist minister and mediumship teacher. I created this podcast because mediumship is one of the most transformational paths you can walk… but let's be honest, it doesn't come with a map. This show is where we talk about the real journey of mediumship development—the kind no one tells you about in weekend workshops. We get into the doubts, the breakthroughs, the grief that surfaces, the unexpected healing, and what it means to walk this path ethically, intuitively, and in alignment with your own soul. I'll be sharing stories from my own practice, teaching episodes to support your spiritual growth, and honest conversations about what it actually looks like to live and work as a psychic medium in today's world. If you've ever wondered: "Is this normal?" "Why does Spirit feel quiet right now?" "Where do I go from here?" This podcast is for you. Whether you're just beginning to explore your gifts or deep in development, you're welcome here. This is a space where your mediumship gets to evolve in its own timing—without pressure, without comparison, and with full trust in your connection to Spirit. Come sit with me inside The Connected Spirit. We're going to keep it real, grounded, and Spirit-led every step of the way.

Physical Mediumship: When Spirit Gets Physical with Anthony Mikolojeski

What is physical mediumship, and how is it different from the spirit communication mediums experience during a reading? In this episode of The Connected Spirit Podcast, I'm joined by psychic and evidential medium Anthony Mikolojeski for a fascinating conversation about physical mediumship, trance, evidential mediumship, and what responsible development really requires. Anthony has experienced Spirit since childhood, but that didn't mean he immediately understood or trusted what was happening. Over time, his development led him into evidential mediumship, platform work, trance, and experiences he describes as physical phenomena. We talk about a trance sitting where coins and a gemstone appeared in the room, unexplained lights witnessed during public demonstrations, and other experiences that challenged Anthony's understanding of how Spirit may interact with the physical world. But this episode isn't simply about extraordinary phenomena. Anthony and I also get into one of the biggest challenges developing mediums face: learning when you're still receiving from Spirit and when your analytical mind has jumped ahead and started finishing the story. In this conversation, we explore: What mental mediumship is and why specific evidence matters How your analytical mind can interfere with a reading Why slowing down can lead to clearer, more detailed information The difference between mental mediumship and trance mediumship Anthony's experiences with physical mediumship and unexplained phenomena Why trust, humility, and patience matter in development Why Spirit should never become something we demand a performance from We also talk about why mediumship development never really ends. The deeper we go, the more important it becomes to stay curious, grounded, and willing to keep learning. If you're curious about trance, physical mediumship, or how to deepen your relationship with Spirit without rushing the process, you'll want to hear this conversation. Can You Be a Medium and Still Believe in God?

Can you be a medium and still believe in God? If you were raised to believe that communicating with Spirit was dangerous, evil, or against your faith, developing mediumship can bring up some very complicated feelings. I know because I lived with that fear for more than 30 years. I was raised in a Christian home and taught that spirits could be harmful, and that what looked like a departed loved one could actually be something dangerous pretending to be them. So when I began having spiritual experiences of my own, I didn't just question what was happening. I questioned what it meant about me, my beliefs, and my relationship with God. In this solo episode, I'm talking about the part of mediumship development that we don't discuss enough: what happens when you feel drawn to understand your abilities, but part of you is still afraid that developing them means turning away from your faith. We'll explore: Why religious conditioning can create fear around mediumship The guilt that can come with exploring spiritual experiences How fear can influence the way you interpret what you're experiencing The difference between fear and genuine discernment Why evidence, critical thinking, boundaries, and personal responsibility matter How developing mediumship changed, rather than destroyed, my own relationship with God Why you don't need to abandon your beliefs to begin asking questions I'm not here to tell you what you should believe. Your relationship with God, your creator, and Spirit is deeply personal. But I do think it's worth asking whether your fear comes from what you have actually experienced, or from what you were taught to expect. For me, mediumship eventually became part of how I understood life, death, love, service, and the continuation of the soul. And if you're standing in that uncomfortable place between curiosity and fear, you don't have to figure it all out today. Why Your Mediumship Evidence Still Feels Too Generic

Why does your mediumship evidence sometimes stay generic, even when you know you can go deeper? Evidential medium Bree Swanson joins Courtney Dawson to explore what can keep developing mediums stuck at surface-level information and what changes when you stop trying to control the reading. Bree is an evidential medium and intuitive artist whose work is rooted in integrity, connection, and respect for Spirit's intelligence. After experiencing personal loss, her understanding of grief and the continuity of life became an important part of how she approaches mediumship and the people she serves. In this conversation, Courtney and Bree unpack the pressure mediums can put on themselves to get the reading "right." They discuss why relying too heavily on formulas or predetermined categories can make it harder to follow the individuality of the Spirit communicator, especially when the evidence doesn't make sense to you yet. You'll hear: • How to move beyond generic evidence in a mediumship reading • Why you don't need to understand Spirit's evidence before giving it • How perfectionism and self-judgement can affect your mediumship • Why unusual evidence may become some of the strongest information in a reading • How to trust the direction of a reading without forcing the communication Bree also shares examples from her own mediumship readings where following unexpected information led to highly personal evidence, including experiences that challenged assumptions about how a Spirit communicator should present. If you've taken mediumship classes, practised your readings, and still find yourself second-guessing the evidence you receive, this episode will help you look more closely at what may be happening between receiving the information and actually allowing yourself to give it.
