[…] The couple had stopped for water. There was a gun in a backpack and Dana ended up shot. He fell to the ground from the gunshot wound. Marsha screamed, but no one was near or could hear her scream. Dana was still alive. He was also conscious for a bit and could speak. About 10 or 1030, soon after Dana had been shot, a couple named Michael and Nancy were hiking down the same trail back from the lake to Bridal Veil Campground. They found the wounded man lying right by the trail. One source says two miles short of the road is where they were located. We're not sure which road they're talking about, if it's two miles from the campground or where exactly they're talking about. […]
