Podcast Overview

As Child and Youth Care Professionals in training, we created this safe space for children and youth to sit with adults and talk about their thoughts and feelings on topics that affect them the most. We as adults, have a certain way of thinking and do what we feel is right for the children and youth who we live and work with. On CYC Talk, we will discuss how those thoughts and actions impact these children and youth. It is time to change our mindset to figure out how we can empower our children and youth and build a therapeutic relationship with them through effective communication.

What does trust mean to children and youth?

Hello to all our listeners It is very difficult for children and youth to voice out their opinions and thoughts without being judged or disciplined in some way by adults.  Here is a conversation that is open and non-judgmental about what trust means and how can adults establish some sort of trust between themselves and the children and youth they live or work with. I hope you are excited to listen to this enlightening conversation between 2 teens Lily and Marlee with their mom's Kristin and Aura.
