The Podcast of dumb crimes and even dumber criminals.
A bi-weekly true crime podcast featuring dumb Criminals and their poorly executed crimes, which fortunately usually results in arrests and convictions. In each episode, true-crime junky, Maria, lays out the facts of a case to her accomplices Greg and his golf buddy, Jason, for their off-the-cuff reactions. From indecent exposure to murder, here comes the dumb!
It’s like Dateline, but dumb.

Episode 92: Toe-ing the Line Straight Into Stupidity
Dumbline heads to New York, where a respected doctor with everything to lose decides to risk all of it on a plan that was never as smart as he thought it was. What starts as control quickly turns into obsession, and from there it only gets worse.
A lot of thinking, a lot of planning, and somehow it still lands in completely dumb territory. Just a reminder that you can map something out from every angle and it can still be a terrible idea. Sometimes the more effort that goes into a bad idea, the worse it actually gets.
Be sure to listen to the end of the episode for everyone’s favorite segment, Get to Know Maria. Catch new episodes biweekly on Wednesdays.

Episode 91: The Dinner Set Dummies
Dumbline is in New York and New Jersey, where a group manages to turn crime into something that almost looks organized. There’s patience, discipline, and a system that somehow keeps working for way longer than anyone would expect.
Eventually the confidence starts to build. What begins as careful planning slowly turns into the kind of certainty that makes people think they’ve figured everything out.
For a while, it works. Maybe a little too well.
But like always on Dumbline, all that planning and preparation eventually drifts straight into completely dumb territory. Just because something works for years doesn’t mean it was ever a good idea.
We’re getting ready to launch full video episodes on YouTube and still working through a few kinks. Thanks to everyone who jumped in while we tested Instagram Live this week.
Next episode we’re hoping to go live on Instagram and TikTok while we record, so keep an eye on our socials.
Be sure to listen to the end of the episode for everyone’s favorite segment, Get to Know Maria. New episodes release biweekly on Wednesdays.

Episode 90: A Blast of Bad Judgment
Episode 90 and still zero personal growth. Dumbline is in a quiet suburban shopping center, the kind of place built on routine, trust, and the assumption that nothing truly extreme happens in broad daylight. In this episode, we follow a trail of resentment, preparation, and misplaced certainty that slowly turns into something far more intentional and far more explosive.
A lot of thinking, a lot of planning, and somehow it still lands in completely dumb territory. Just a reminder that you can map something out from every angle and it can still be a terrible idea. Sometimes the more effort that goes into a bad idea, the worse it actually gets.
We’re still working on going live and putting full video episodes on YouTube, so we’re still ironing out a few kinks. If the audio’s a little off, that’s on us, and thanks for sticking with us while we get it dialed in.
Be sure to listen to the end of the episode for everyone’s favorite segment, Get to Know Maria. Catch new episodes biweekly on Wednesdays.

[…] Gloria and Sandra in on this too? They're tangentially in on it. They definitely... They like spending the money. Yes. So to find their targets... Yeah, they were just like, what's in the safety deposit box? Awesome. I need some. So to find their targets, Peter and Dominic pour over the society pages, which for those who don't know, are basically that era's TMZ for the rich in newspapers, especially in the Northeast. Would the Times have a society section? As far as I know, the Times didn't. It would be more like, I know the New York Post did, Daily News did. So it was sort of like the more everyday papers, I guess is a way to put it. […]
