The story of Earth has been told many times. In today's story, Earth is a clump of rocks, sutured together by gravity. Elements rain down from space where they're trapped. Land is recycled through a process called Tectonic Subduction that mimics industrial, 19th century, machines of mass production. This podcast offers a fresh story of Earth, with exciting evidence to explain continental positions, why the poles shift, convection in the mantle, and more. If you ever thought Tectonics was a mess or obsessed over Google Earth, subscribe and discover the remarkable truth about Earth.

The Fight against Global Warming begins at Plate Tectonics
The fight against global warming is just beginning. Success will require that the people reclaim the narrative of Earth. Plate Tectonics is the foundation for structural geology, which is primarily funded by the oil and gas industry. Plate Tectonics and fossil fuels are complementary 19th Century technology of the Industrial Revolution. Plate Tectonics and industrial, conveyor belt assembly machines are clunky, human and unlike the grace of nature. The tectonic system has never forecasted an Earthquake, but it predicts oil constantly. There are cleaner forms of energy to harness from Earth’s interior, but until Plate Tectonics is reevaluated and replaced, fossil fuels will continue to dominate. All students of geology and geophysics must assume Plate Tectonics are valid and calculate all future data throughout their careers on the model of Plate Tectonics. As a result, few in the field think outside the tectonic box. If the tectonic model is a misinterpretation, it explains why in 60 years, geoscience hasn’t advanced in a way that allows for reliable or deterministic forecasting of events. Despite attempts by other scientists to introduce life based theories such as growing Earth or Gaia- the hypothesis that Earth is a self regulating organism- they’ve been dismissed, or worse ridiculed by their peers. This is a disaster for climate change. If all Earth scientists are trained to look at Earth as an industrial machine, Earth will continue to be treated like one.

The Origins of Plate Tectonics - Continental Drift
Ep. 3: The Origins of Plate Tectonics- Continental Drift explores the chain link from Climate Change to Fossil Fuels to Plate Tectonics to Continental Drift. First coined by Northern European map makers of the Seafaring Age, Continental Drift was a reflection of a sea oriented thinking. It was advanced by Alfred Wegner as Continental Drift and Pangea. It was advanced further by Harry Hess who used Industrial Age mechanics to explain the Drift. Thus, the same ancient idea is has been updated for each age. The fight against climate change will require that the people take control of geoscience because geoscience is funded by the oil and gas industry. Plate tectonics and fossil fuels are a pair.

Plate Tectonics: Cutting Edge Industrial Age Engineering
Sight is Limited by Context. Plate Tectonics: Cutting Edge Industrial Age Engineering This 2nd Episode of Earthloaf podcast delves deeper into the historical precedent for the design of seafloor spreading and tectonic subduction models of continental motion. Born into the 2nd Industrial Revolution, when the hottest tech of the time was laterally oriented, conveyor belt, assembly machines, Harry Hess, father of tectonics, was trained in engineering and geology. Now that were in the Technical Age where fiber optics, nano and satellite technology, the tectonic process seems dated to the Industrial relics of the 19th Century. Coincidentally, the rise of fossil fuels is also tied to the Industrial Revolution.
